I said this before on one of your previous videos. What I HATE is when ppl who talk so negative about Dominican Republic or Dominican women as if those negative things don’t apply EVERYWHERE. Poverty, crime, prostitution, slums, bad traffic, etc is EVERYWHERE. I’m not even Dominican or live in DR. Also, I agree with James about NOT moving to DR to work. Move there with the currency from your Country. More than likely your money will go further living in DR.

I really like this casual talk segment. I’m researching moving to DR after my last child is launched in life and retiring. My man is smooth, confident and intelligent. He’s got me wanting to move today🤣 I look forward to my first visit in a few months.

I think one good reason he’s been able to adapt is that, unless he speaks, he looks like your average Dominican. Also, judging from his mindset, you can tell he’s intelligent and street smart, so of course he’s not gonna be taken for a sucker. Overall, I hope you guys continue to thrive and keep providing this excellent content 🙌🏾

Couldn't DISAGREE MORE! You can 'smell' for a mile that this guy is a BLACK AMERICAN! I'm saying this because I've lived for more than 30 years in Europe. And I can tell ye this: no matter how crowded the streets or the beaches were: just by the way they were carrying themselves in The NETHERLANDS, GERMANY, SPAIN they mad it plain to everybody WITH LIPS SEALED: WE'RE NOT YOUR TAKEN FOR GRANTED AFRICANS!!!
@kayakingdominicana
@kayakingdominicana Жыл бұрын
@@gunorijssel7987 but the video has nothing to do with Europe, it’s about folks from the US living in the DR. And I’m Dominican-American living my entire life between both places, and that man even looks like a brother of mine. Clearly if you put him in an interrogation room of course the American will come out of him, but if he walks through the streets of DR, I wouldn’t right away guess he’s from the US.

You can meet good local women anywhere. I've met local dominican women in the supermercado several times.. the Jumbo, the farmacia, restaurants, bars, beaches, hotels, pools, house parties, birthday parties for sure. incluso en la barbería que tienen mujeres que también se hacen tratamientos faciales después de cortarse el pelo. que son hermosas There are plenty of local women who are good women out there. And I love Santo domingo too bro. I agree it has a city life feel to it. And coming from NY I gravitated to that instantly. And I've been all over that island. And there are nice women everywhere in every town.

Norberis, this is a great video. Very interesting perspective from your husband as an American living in DR. You guys make a great power couple and you compliment each other nicely. My wife is also originally from DR and I from New Jersey (by way of Guyana). We currently reside in New Jersey but are actively planning to retire in DR. We have already purchased a place there and we are just counting down the years before we move. I appreciate all of the great content that you post. A lot of it I can relate to since I have been among Dominicans and have visited DR for most of my life. I just love the laid back and down to earth nature of Dominican life. Being originally from the Caribbean, this is not exactly new to me, so I don't anticaipte having issues adapting to life in DR. Keep up the good work!

I agree overwhelmingly with every answers he gave. From adjusting to the DR, to driving’s in the DR etc, etc, etc. I totally agree. What was interesting for me though is the answers he give (one )on Dominican women and (two )marrying a Dominican woman as it relates to her family. You hit it out the ball park brother. A home run and a slam dunk; I mean a Shack tearing down the back board slam dunk. Over nine years and I never felt or was under any pressure to take care of my spouse family. And I agree; I have no idea where these guys finding some of these women and then they say all Dominican women is like that. I just don’t see it. Good content. So much misconceptions about DR and lots of KZbin videos carry those narratives. I appreciate your husband's responses. I think what he said about typical women, working there, adjusting and marrying into family was very helpful. Person's would have a negative experience and paint the whole of DR the same way. Also, your husband raised a good question...what are these people doing and where that they get scammed on the regular? Lol....I think financial wise she might be scared to move back as I said in the video because we feel like we might go back to the same lifestyle we left. If you can show her that the living situation would be better that might ease her mind. In my opinion a middle class lifestyle here is better than America. We live better here than we did in America on less money.

Hello, yes exactly what he says hits the nail on the head where and how to meet regular Dominican women. A man only needs eyes in his head and he can just find women anywhere, in day and nighttime and the rest happens or doesn't happen. It is very simple, but also very honest and pure.

😊 What a lovely video Norberis, thanks for making this one. It is nice to see your hubby in front of the camera. You both have great screen presence. I appreciated hearing his perspectives on DR 😊 My first thought, however, was...... I like the contribution of your husband in your videos because it makes for a more balanced presentation since most of your subscribers are extranjeros. I will say that one of the things that is difficult in all urban areas of the Dominican Republic is the traffic. True Santo Domingo is more congested because it is the largest urban center in the country, but I have driven in Santiago, I live in Puerto Plata and I just returned this weekend from a trip to Moca and driving was a challenge. A major problem is the motos that are like "moscas" flying everywhere around you it's almost like you need 6 eyes, 2 in front, 2 on the side and 2 on the back of your head...jajaja! Another good video thanks.

Driving is all about get in where you fit in. I agree with not coming to DR to work unless you are working remote and your wages are USA based. Your husband is right on point with everything I heard. I have been to DR 12 times in the last 2 years and have grown accustomed to how things are done. I am going to move here once my fiance gets her Green Card in the USA. Life is so much easier here for me and I can live more free to travel the world.

Great video! As for the scamming towards gringos, i would say it happens in a few areas. Mainly its when you deal with small businesses or ESPECIALLY with Ubers/Indriver. The uber drivers will accept the offer and message you to say it cost 1k pesos more. Then they will message you and say, "no one will offer less for the same ride". Other than that i really enjoy DR. ❤

You guys need to do more videos together and he wasn’t lying about meeting dominican women they are everywhere. Also if you’re a high quality man you will attract a high quality dominican women. Learning Spanish is a plus 💯 @Norberis people do have to leave the tourist areas but only 60% of USA travelers are only in DR for a short period of time. Everyone else is a digital nomad, expat, military on duty or a retiree that get to experience the beautiful side of Dominican Republic

Great video ☺️ very good insight on how it actually is in the DR🙏🏽 On constructive criticism that I do have is only for the music overlapping🙈 I like the calm music you picked it fits well but I can still hear the music that was playing while filming. It’s a little distracting but doesn’t take away from how good this video is. 🫶🏽
@NorberisR
@NorberisR Жыл бұрын
It's a reason the music is overlapping. The music in the restaurant is copyrighted music. The video would have gotten demonitized so adding another layer keeps it from happening.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I visited the Dominican Republic last year for the first time staying 3 weeks in Cabarete and I Loved it so much. Im originally from Los Angeles,Ca so the beach and the city life is mandatory.... Everyday, im constantly thinking of ways of coming back for a Long term stay. I did hear your husband mention, its hard to find work and the jobs there are low pay. I am currently A nursing student, and im wondering if I would be able to use my degree there.Anyways, looking forward to your next video.
