Blessings from God are not unconditional. They never have been. Abraham had to learn to trust God before he received the full blessing. The Israelites had to keep the Mosaic Law in order to keep the Promised Land. Notice they had to do something in order to keep the blessings. Christians today, in order to receive the blessing of Heaven must Believe that Jesus is the Christ, Confess that Jesus is Lord, Repent of their Sins, and be Baptized for the Remissions of their Sins, and be faithful that Jesus's blood is the atoning blood of our sins. Without these steps one is not able to enter Heaven. That is the blessing.
