I've been a fan from the start, seen them about ten times across their career and they never disappoint. I still remember first hearing them on a AM metal station early on, I couldn't find their album yet but when I did, I was completely blown away. Who covers the Talking Heads? Nobody mainstream was rapping and using melody yet. Will had a drum kit back in the day called the "Pyramid of Doom" my friends and I still look back at fondly. As a guitar player, I've learned a lot from Vernon, his chord progressions are unique in a time when some say they can play anything using four chords, not a Living Colour song. It's rare when every member of the band is a beast, shout out to Muzz too. Last time I saw them, they had a meet and greet afterward that really hit home with me because I'm such a super fan, just a really cool gesture.

Same here, I saw the video for Cult of Personality late one night on MTV. That Friday was payday and I was in my local independent record shop, kinda my hangout. The owner came over and asked what I was looking for and he didn’t have a few of the albums I wanted at the time like the latest Judas Priest. He went over to next row and pulled out a copy of “Vivid” and said “Have you heard of these guys? They’re kinda Hendrixy” was the way he described them. “Ya,man, I saw the video just this week”. He said to just take this one on the house and knowing the kind of music I was into, that I would dig it. I immediately copied it to cassette and played it in my car to work and back the whole week. Then got to see them in a bar/club in Long Beach CA a few months later. Corey was sporting his Body Glove shorty Also got to see them at the LA Coliseum when they opened for The Rolling Stones and Guns N Roses. Still got the shirt. 😅 good times!
