About the public transport being "so easy".... Those of us who live here, live in fear of the "control people" who don't always wear uniform, and they will stop you if you see them and try to sneak off - the penalty for not having a ticket is over 90 pounds. So.... we'd rather pay the 70 pounds a month for our travel card (which most people have on their travel card app on their phone - that's why you didn't see other people scanning a typical travel card). I have mixed feeling about this video. I don't like the dishonesty, but I can appreciate the challenge.

@@TronciM I think that for the capital city of Norway, 70 pounds is quite decent. Considering bigger places like London charge you 100 or more per month. Also, you have to remember that in Norway, the wages are in general higher, so the cost of living matches that. But yes, Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world.

When I first traveled to Norway I also went alone for like 48 hours without any plan (I was pretty hungover upon arrival). I met the greatest people and I still have many friends there, I'm going back like 4 times a year at this point. This video really reminds me of my first visit there.

On norwegian trams/trains and busses, there are random controls where big spooky security people come and check tickets. This only happens sometimes but if you do it on a daily basis, you will eventually have to pay a fine of around 150$

security/guards from RUTER which is the bus system and stuff sometimes randomly go on busses to check if you have paid for a ticket. If you do not have a ticket you get a fine on 1000kroner which is 114 dollars.

The thing with the public transport is, that there are random checks going on. Like conductor gets on at some point and checks and if you don't have the ticket you get fined. It is the same in Czech Republic where I live and the fines are pretty steep. Like $80 which may not seem that high but considering the fact that the ticket itself costs $1... It is pretty damn steep.

where I live, you have to check in everytime you enter the bus... but in Oslo its so many that you dont need to check in. those check ins are to active the card

14:03, it's easy to sneak on to public transport in Oslo, but if you get caught by the people that checks if people have their tickets (billettkontroll), you have to pay over 100 dollars
