agreed about dubai catering to rich and dumb tourists. Saudi Arabia is a great place for free food. Almost all the small restaurants in mecca and medina have a sign offering free food to people who dont have money. its usually the cheap food buts its a full meal 3 times a day.

I've been to many countries alone. Most countries have signs in English as well as the native language. I get around alot easier than I would've thought before I started traveling. To me the excitement of being there takes away all other feelings. In sketchy looking places I walk at a decent pace and just look down and mind my business and I've never had a problem.
