Living fossils do not contradict evolution. There are two species of coelacanth. The ones discovered relatively recently *evolved* and are genetically different from the ancient ones. Research is required if you're going to talk about science related subjects. You can't just read a headline or peruse a quick article. The reason there are living fossils, as we call them, is because those particular populations of organisms were and are reproductively fit in their environments, even though they still evolved, they remain relatively unchanged.
