The Society’s members wear the Medal of Honor, our nation’s highest honor for military valor in action. The Congressional Medal of Honor Society is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Medal of Honor and its Recipients and supporting the Recipients as they connect with communities across the country. The Recipients work to educate and inspire citizens, students, Veterans, and active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces in an effort to encourage future generations to embody the values of the Medal of Honor: courage, sacrifice, integrity, commitment, patriotism, and citizenship.

This man was my teacher the year 9/11 happened. like most people I will never forget the day but he made sure we saw what happened and then he told us his story.m. I knew then what the whole world knows now he deserves this metal in to be recognized in this way. I know for a fact, inspired three of my classmates to join the military because of how honorable he is. he was one of my best and most memorable teachers of my life.

I was awarded a combat medic badge for service in Nam. But it was not earned as yours was. Thank you for your service and your return.

The prayer to Father, yielding all that is left of us to Him is what calmed your nerves and fight against such hideous odds. This I cured constantly in Vietnam. Glad to see you made it back.
