ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Loui! I am an adventurer at heart who loves to share every step of the way. My travels so far ,via camper van, jeep camper, and foot, have taken me all over North America. I started this channel in 2019 in hopes of inspiring other people like me who didn't exactly grow up living an adventurous lifestyle and who might be afraid to get started on their own adventures. Since then, it has turned into my full time job and something that I very passionate about. So, stick around to see the journey unfold!

Hi, awesome climbing. Sorry for being a "Dad", just my 2¢ but Is climbing with a ring safe? I have worn my wedding ring for many a year and "Things happen" with rings. I am concerned about a finger injury at a troublesome height...that could be avoided.

It's so interesting to see the details of how the ropes are anchored and used. So now I get why it's such a big deal to climb lead! And so much trust is placed in the quality of the anchors which I presume are set by the original climber on that route?

Heya, great to see you out climbing and enjoying yourselves. Please please please secure yourself at the top of every climb with a personal anchor before you come off belay. Seeing you unsecured at the top and asking for slack sent a shiver down my spine. I know it’s an easy climb but that’s not a habit you want to get into as you get better.
@AdventureTimeLoui
@AdventureTimeLoui 7 ай бұрын
I’m kinda of confused by this comment maybe you can expand. When I was at the top there was no point in which I was off belay I was completely tied in at every point. I do understand the use of an personal anchor when you are having to thread the rope through rings but in this instance it was a simple clip in anchor so why would I over complicate it?
@andya7429
@andya7429 7 ай бұрын
@AdventureTimeLoui It's mostly just a good habit to get into. You don't know what your belayer is actually doing down there. "Oh the climber's at the top, I can relax for a sec" You clip and weight the rope and suddenly you're falling because they weren't paying attention. The anchor gives you a chance to make sure you're secure before you get lowered. You don't have to but why risk it?
