I feel like Geckos would be S tier as well since they can climb pretty much like spiders. Maybe even better if you consider spider silk to be aid. Spiders are trad climbers and geckos only free solo.

Plus they have a great downclimbing technique: they turn their forepaws 180 degrees and are able to keep a controlled grip while descending with their haunches.

​@@ClimbingStuff they'll literally crawl on glass, and honestly do it better than a spider many times. Especially when you consider geckos (and relatives) weigh more than most spiders. Spiders got S tier belay system, but geckos got S tier feet.

the problem is too many animals are used to trees but not rock i feel like. For examples there are insanely good tree climbers in the big cat category but you don't even know how they would do on rock

2:45 I think since monkeys are much smaller than, for them, they have bigger platforms to down climb head first. That's what makes it difficult for humans. What is a small ledge for us is a big ledge for the monkeys. If there were large ledges for us, we'd also be able to downclimb head first.

Face first downclimbing is for slick slabs if you have no proper shoes either, you slide down on your belly but you can see all the footholds and use them as hand holds to slow you down. You'd think I'm BSing you but I've heard it's a Siberian free solo technique they've used for centuries in downclimbing their stuff :D
