Carrie, for your pot plants I suggest when you are on the road you put the plants in the sink and put some tea /hand towels around them. The adhesive dots might work for a little while, but they will tear apart and you'll come in one day and you'll have dirt and plants across your floor. As you mentioned you are going to travel around the country can I suggest you join the Motor Caravan Association (mca.org.nz) as it will give you a whole lot of information about living in your caravan, places to visit and a whole lot of discounts you can use at camping grounds around the country as well as on inter island ferry. We live in a 25 foot leisure travel van MB...Best tip I can give you: get a fantastic fan or a maxair fan or, at the very least, a cover for your skylight… You will then be able to leave it open even when it’s raining! It is a game changer! I hope you enjoy every minute in your new caravan! Happy trails! 🇨🇦💕

I could see you guys living in a tiny house on wheels. I've watching " How to live Big in a Tiny House" and the homes they feature are dope and you can always move if you choose. What do you do about a bathroom situation? I guess campgrounds have those facilities. It's really a nice space and Lanka seems happy. I heard there were earthquakes and Tsunami warnings in New Zealand and I thought of you two, so glad to see all is well.

Some sort of small dehumidifier unit might be useful to have . Also you can get tiny heaters which are super low watt like 100 max they do 75 they are called damp chasers you can buy from NZ hardware stores. Check out op shops for decking it out more with more interesting and unique things

Also go to AA and get the travel guidebooks which can be really useful and maybe think about getting an AA membership if doing lots of traveling really handy if you break down somewhere , also of your staying somewhere keep an eye out for local swimming pools they generally have quite cheap entry fees or just a shower fee if your needing to use a shower and aren't staying at a campground

Suggest Honda 22 i called in australia generator for power quieter than most have one and runs a fair bit can also twin it for extra power but one enough for caravan

We have a solar shower and a portable toilet but for now we’ve just been staying at campsites with toilets and showers. New Zealand is set up really nicely with campsites everywhere.

They will no doubt be travelling from Van Park to Van Park which has bathroom and cooking facilities. There’s also ‘Freedom Camping’ locations dotted around with facilities. They could also have a solar shower on board too :)

That is a thing in NZ as a lot of owners do not want pets in there rentals. When you want to rent a house in NZ it can become a problem to find a house as a lot of owners do not allow pets in there rentals.
