I absolutely loved seeing NZ in campervan two years ago, it really is such a great way to travel. Would be great to have a campervan attached to a car though to really allow you to go anyway but not an easy option when visiting from elsewhere as it doesn’t seem to be a common hire option! Hoping to do a two week road trip around the South Island this year either with a friend or by myself and will definitely be doing it in a campervan again! Loving your videos at the moment, they are such a breath of fresh air 😊

Kate Shepard's house she was born in is in Wellington on Tinakori Rd. This house is also a museum. So if your in Wellington you may want to check it out. I thought you'd start to glow once you got to the South Island and you clearly are glowing. The beauty gets more alpine raw as you go further south but keeps getting better and better until you get to the amazing Fiordland which is where the iconic stunning Milford Sound is, right down in the bottom South West of the island. Wow I have been at that café in february 2020! It's got a name but I won't tell ;) It was so great, I could have stayed there just sipping coffee and reading - but that would be a shame with that beautiful Beach right around the corner. you really feel out of time and space when you decide to Drive to the end of a "dead end", that makes it 2times relaxing. also did some kayaking in Golden Bay. Ah miss NZ. Was our last Holiday before the Big C started.

Yes I agree with you that it's the best. I visited the place in November 2018 when I went to Nelson it was free entry with samples but I loved the samples so much I decided to buy some jars of jam and peanut butter in the souvenir shop and they gave me free peanut butter slugs as well which are delicious. So much amazing things to do in New Zealand and a lot is affordable for when you need to do it cheap like me who's on the work and income benefit. Alex and Carrie it's exciting country.

Heya Carrie! Just posting this here as well as on Alex's new vid too as I think you'll like some of the recommendations away from the usual well known spots as you go about your current travels. I always love your vids. The feel very journal like, but with brilliant advice from this beautiful personal artwork of a video journal that you create for these moments and your learnings in life. They always make me feel calm and clear, as well as excited to go engage in the beauty and joy out there which you present as available. Here's the recommendations: Hey just some rambling less travelled to recommendations, aside from lake moeraki, that you may otherwise miss (of course all the usual travelled to spots are totally worth it!). For example just type in national parks in the south island into google to find a list of parks you may otherwise miss like the nelson lakes national park. I should also mention the oparara basin in kahurangi is the most incredible elven/dwarvish lord of the rings type place you'll find, but is often missed due to it being slightly up north on the west coast once you get there (where as most people get over and just head straight south). Easy camping in the town nearby. Some great white beaches over there with nikau native palm trees (southern most palm) that are hidden away to by the heaphy track. If you do make it all the way south. Get over to stewart island and ulva island off stewart island (third biggest nz island after the north). Google image search will show you why. All the passes between the west and east are worth doing at some.point in time. Plus things like the great walks which you have to book out in advance, and even less well grafted tracka like the hollyford track in fiordland. There's so many hidden lakes and pools like the blue pools and the mirror lake and lake matheson down south too. On the west things like landsborough valley and eglington valley are super magical, but take a bit more adventuring to get to than most. Oh and in fiordland, try not just Milford sound, but dusky and doubtful sounds for the less accessible but more beautiful spots. The punakaiki/pancake rocks and the river down that way in westland is awesome (you can kayak up it too) and is also missed a bit as is much of westland, and the nelson lakes national area near where you were a bit earlier and the caitlins way further south with it's stunning isolated beaches and forests - there are a few places just off the road ro stay though with a campervan. Everywhere else like mt aspiring and cook national parks, and kaikoura and akaroa etc are usually hit on a road trip as well as the spectacular passes to and from the west coast. Central otago takes a bit of exploring along with the southland mountains, arrow town is probably the best spot to see leaves falling and colourful in autumn right nect to queenstown. Okarito lagoon in westland is also the most beautiful place to kayak alongside lake moeraki and the beaches and mountains and forests surrounding that area (all very close/on one another). In dunedin there is a beautiful predator proofed fence ecosanctuary called Orokonui that holds rare birds in its forests if you can get someone to look after Lanka for a few hours - but an even better option down south is Ulva island which stewart island tours can take you too. Just some rambling details about a few missed but so worth it spots ahaha. Hope you find some unmentioned here yourself as there are plenty more!
