We continue our journey through Mexico by leaving the Pacific coast (Barra de Navidad) and heading up in elevation for a stop in the "pueblo magico" of Mazamitla, Jalisco, and then on to Ajijic at Lake Chapala.
A popular expat heaven, the dogs and I experience Ajijic first hand, including going to market and looking at rentals.

If you leave a comment I appreciate it! But, youtube is being glitchy and I'm not able to see all comments. They say they are working on the problem. If I don't respond to your comment it's most likely because it has disappeared from my view. Hopefully I will be able to see it soon.

Mazamitla, often referred to as Mexico's Swiss town, is a hidden gem few Gringos know about. It's worthy of a longer visit and dedicated video. It's not unlike Solvang, the Danish town, in California.

I loved it! Bummer to only spend the night there, but I hope to go back sometime. After the heat and dust of the coast, Mazamitla felt like a paradise :)

Nicely done. Good videography. Ajijic as you probably know by now, is pronounced Ah Hee Heek.

Thanks for your video. Could you please let me know which is the best site to look for rent in Ajijic?. Is it a safe place to live as a retired?. Thanks in advanced
@MoraMargaret
@MoraMargaret 4 ай бұрын
Hi! I just google "Ajijic casa en renta" and you get a BUNCH of options. If you're looking for a month or so, I like Airbnb (can have big discounts for a month long stay) or, if you're looking for some thing more permanent, like 6 months or a year, you might like www.accesslakechapala.com/for-rent-listings/ because the prices are in US dollars so it's easy to get an idea of costs here. The people I've talked to here all say it's a safe place to live. Good luck!

So, you’re not actually living in Ajijic as the title suggests. You had a little visit. Nice video. You do a good job of editing and adding music that stays in the background and speak in a lovely well-modulated voice.

Enjoyed your video. I’m currently living in Mazatlan, but trying to escape the summer heat. I have the potential to rent a place in for three months however I’ve heard from other KZbinrs that the lake is really low and full of algae and smells. Wondering if you have any comments about that and if it affects the enjoyment of staying there?
@MoraMargaret
@MoraMargaret 4 ай бұрын
I was just telling someone, the one thing I really don't like about the area is the lake. I've been told there is raw sewage and mucho chemicals flowing into it. I did not detect any smell but it's very low. It is not a healthy body of water and for me, that does effect my perception of the area.

@@MoraMargaret and the fish you buy there or eat in restaurants, is it from the lake? Is it used to water the agricultural areas?
@MoraMargaret
@MoraMargaret 4 ай бұрын
That's a good question. I'm not sure but I would doubt fish come from there.
