Round Rock was the town to grow up in during the early 90s, it has now grown so much that it's almost unrecognizable in most areas.

I would really like to see a video about what it will be like renting in and around Austin. I like the Round Rock area and looking to move next year.
@AustinTX Жыл бұрын
What part of Austin are you thinking? I don’t know the rental market, but happy to make a video about different areas that we haven’t covered. Austin is big so narrowing in on neighborhoods would help a ton in producing an effective video.

@@AustinTX Mostly in Round Rock and surrounding areas. My wife and I are going there in Sept. to look at some areas where we think we might move. So I really just want to have an understanding of where to look.

@@lukesterger814, we have a ton of videos on a bunch of neighborhoods in and near to Round Rock. Look up the videos we’ve made about Teravista, Forest Creek, what 500k buys in RR (lots of neighborhood info),videos about Pflugerville, Leander. The list goes on

When we moved out of Austin proper 8 years ago, we looked at Teravista and liked round rock in general, but I hadn’t retired yet and was unwilling to drive I-35 everyday. We ended up in pflugerville and I used the toll road to get to Austin quickly and easily. Round rock is a little more developed in some ways but pflugerville was a good move for us. We end up going to round rock for health care.

Hi, I enjoy your videos tremendously. I will be moving my family to Austin (Cedar Park is my top contender so far) from DC in a few months. In one of your videos, you mentioned property taxes very by neighborhood. Do you know if there is a website or any other source where I can look up tax rates for each neighborhood I am interested in?
@AustinTXАй бұрын
Howdy Nikolay 👋🏻 That’s a good question. As far as tax rate per neighborhood, you could try the county website, but it’s not a very fluid process. I think we may also have the ability to do home searches within a tax rate range. Is there a particular range you’d like to stay or or more curious to compare ?

We (wife , myself, and young daughter 7 at the time) moved to Round Rock in 1979 from Pennsylvania. I believe there were approx. 10,000 people at the time. We lived in Tonkawa Springs which at the time was a Premium subdivision. Our property backed onto the lake which was very nice. Schools were pretty good, people were friendly. My late wife really liked the whole environment. I know it has been a long time but when I hear the population is now 125,000 and the little Catholic church is now a Cathedral it just shocks me.

Daphne, I’m considering transferring/relocating through my employer, but I would have to rent for probably the first couple years? Would you have an idea where online I could look to starting researching about the rental market in that surrounding area? I’ve been watching your videos on the city of Austin, but I think suburban rentals would be best for me, at least for the first 2 years.

Hey there, I'm not as familiar with the rental market, but I'm fairly certian tha Zillow and Realtor.com are good starting points. There are some wonderful suburbs right outside of Austin that have a ton of stuff of stuff to offer. Do you know what part of town your employer is in?

Low-rated schools can be a pro if you are single and not planning to have kids. I rent in Round Rock and looked up my schools and the nearby elementary is 2/10! I'd buy in my neighborhood but I suffer from sticker shock when I look at what houses are going for.
@AustinTX Жыл бұрын
I’m with you!! None of my investment homes are zoned for highly rated schools. I think my current house is rated for an elementary school that is also 2/10 😂 Which neighborhood are you in, just curious 🏡

Round Rock like Pflugerville is a dump. The schools are below avg and these two cities have gone downhill over the past twenty years.
