Y'all are going to overbuild and then experience all the woes that come with it. Trust me, I live in a place that it happened to and I can't wait to escape the people and gridlock, and waiting 30 minutes in a store line. If I was fleeing Cali I would look at Vermont, Northern MI, or NH for the same lifestyle or better for way cheaper.

Of course! With the growth both Bend and Redmond are experiencing its becoming a mixing pot. Overall Bend probably has a higher percentage (especially in the west side.) Redmond is shifting rather quickly as well. It will be interesting to see how the next 5 years look!

Yep. Comes down to local officials and policies. Luckily, we have good governing bodies and people are moving in like crazy!

25 minute commute between Bend and Redmond? Only on a good day! What about the bumper to bumper traffic from 3-6 going North on HWY 97 from Bend to Redmond? And if you’re looking for a job to be able to afford the prices in Bend and Redmond, good luck..average jobs in Central Oregon no longer support the cost of living. I know you’re a real estate agent, but tell the truth dude.With the rude attitude and missing what Seattle or San Francisco or (insert large city) “had”, Central Oregon is becoming super commercialized and unfriendly. If you’re going to live in Central Oregon, check your attitude at the border please.

Hey Jeanette, thanks for the comment and consideration. Completely agree that traffic can get busy heading north during rush hour. Like any other metro area the major cities will have traffic headed to the smaller ones. The reason for comparison in my opinion is price difference. Are you willing to drive an extra 10-15 minutes to save 100-200k on home prices? Looking at cities like Portland, you should expect 30+ minutes to get from downtown to Beaverton, but, you save money. It really comes down to what the individual is looking for! 🙌
