the area is so valuable that owners might not bother to renovate them. they may also be assuming that bondi renters are young people who like to party and assume that they will not look after them

Wow I’m from Sydney but I’ve never lived in Bondi, good to know the community and rent situation because I was actually thinking of moving somewhere close to the beach.

This was so informative. Bondi beach is very beautiful but it seems very expensive. I guess the beauty comes with its expenses. Omg when you described the rain, that sounds very gloomy. I would still love to visit though. Thank you for sharing.

I own a lovely refurbed apartment in Bondi, right on the beach in an older building. there are many of these, inhabited by owner occupiers. These have been refurbed brilliantly. You’re describing more the RENTAL market and that quality of housing stock. If an owner buys a rental investment property to mainly rent out to 20 somethings, they’re not going to refurb the home to high standards. That’s the housing stock you’re probably experiencing. Owner occupied homes in Bondi are chic, stylish, and pretty much insect free! (Eg There are services that add gels each season to remove all insects) Anyway, just thought I’d add that point as a distinction between beautiful, expensive owner-occupied homes, and the (rustic) rental stock out there. Hope you enjoy Bondi! I live in New York, I can’t wait to get back there!

Listen I can deal with a spider or two if I'm leaving by the beach! I am a beach town girl so that's right up my alley...plus I like the rustic vibes of beach towns!

Fantastic video. Superb incite into living in Bondi Beach. I have a phobia of spiders😬 Just the look of that one makes me freak out😱 no no. I couldn't share my digs with one that size😳😂🤣 Thank you for posting🙂☀️

I hate spiders but... my husband recently bought two spiders... as pets so I've been trying to get used to them 😅 he would love that though. Bondi beach would be cool to come to for a vacation since we do want to come to Australia some time but as of now Bondi Beach sadly sounds to experience for us. I love how you were honest with the cons and didn't sugarcoat anything.

My husband and son are scared of spiders. Its a dream to live in front of the beach. But it just so expensive to get a property.

Bondi Beach looks like the kind of beach I'll love to spend time at. Spiders 🕷 are creepy though not as bad as cockroches. You also said they're harmless which is great. Rustic buildings should cost less or don't you think so?

lived there between 2003 - 2007 awesome place in both summer and winter, I have kids now so its not so practical, plus i feel the junction is way to over developed for a place to go when not going to the beach or for a beach walk, the food scene I think was better back then than it is now, to many multinational fast food joints, used to be mostly all local with a hungry jacks in the middle, the lifestyle is great if you are young without kids. Also 24hour bus service was handy when I went in town for meet ups, in town is way over developed for my taste, its lost its edge, best years for me were pre 2000 olympics with all the upgrades till about 2016 (1995 -2016) now I don't really recognise the place inner city feels like an open planned westfields now, corporate and bland.

Nope. I could not do the huntsman spiders. Those things are huge. How do you get them out? And I don’t do roaches either. I did not know this about the homes in Bondi Beach in them being more rustic or older. The guy I rode around Sydney with this didn’t tell me lol. But I think I would go and stay in the city.

Bondi is one stinking cockroach hole with a backdrop of beautiful blue sea with a absolutely gorgeous Bondi Bay with white sand.

There are negatives to everywhere you live, I’m just letting people know my opinion to help them make their decision. Bondi is my favourite place in Sydney to live so definitely no whinging here 🙂
