Love your video. It looks relaxed & not trying hard to impress & very straightforward with all the advise & practicalities. Although it lacks the “tourism” aspects, which I hoped there was more, I still like it because it’s not a typical vlog/video of how to see a major city. Thanks for this! 😊👍

The best cities of Belgium are in Flanders: Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Leuven...
@d-space76795 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, it's not... I live in Ghent now, very boring.. too small and not so much to do actually. Leuven is even more boring, it's just a university city. I wished I lived in Brussels again, much much more to do, day and night, people are more open and friendly there and it's more international. (in a good way) Bruges is pretty okay, very romantic and nice culture. And Antwerp? Well... it's Antwerp.

That's one of the worst areas in the city. People living there just throw their garbage through the window and have no respect for any moral values. After decades of complaints there are finally plans to do something about it. But it could take another 10 years before all plans are realized. They had to take away trees at the touristic squares because a certain group of people were dumping their garbage around trees. A long way to go... especially if they are teached to despise our western culture. I love multicultural life in big cities, but only if there is mutual respect for each other.
@Maxime_K-G4 жыл бұрын
You gotta know where to go. If you're going to hang around midi station all day, you won't have a good time. Also, midi isn't in the centrum at all. It's in the South (cause at noon (midi in French) the sun is located in the South (yeah, logic)).
@riccardoattilia82193 жыл бұрын
@@Maxime_K-G yes midi is a ugly area but there are ugly parts in most cities in the world. I agree brussels isn't the cleanest of places but it's a nice place where to live, just choose carefully the neighborhoods, there are plenty and different each other. Everyone in brussels can find his place !

Are there any Belgian people that actually live in Brussels? Do Belgian people ever leave their homes because it must be very dangerous there? Can one walk in the street after dark? Is terrorism still very active there and would you be safe? ( the Police have guns for a reason l am sure) What do Belgian people think of other people? Do Belgian people have a sense of humor or ever laugh? Are there Belgian pubs and do people ever drink alcohol in Belgium? Do Belgian people ever leave Belgium and travel to other Countries and can Belgian people swim? Can l speak French in all of Brussels? Have Belgian people ever seen the Ocean? Is Waterloo very hard to get to? I am going to Brussels soon,Thank you.
@timomaestripieri66914 жыл бұрын
I'm from Belgium, it is a very safe country. Like all countries we have our problems, there are pickpockets in the touristy areas, Belgian drivers aren't the best in the world, Some areas are better avoided after dark but if you ask the locals they will tell you what to avoid. We had 1 "successful" terrorist attack, but it is not a widespread problem and security is beefed up a lot since then. The police have guns but don't use them unless shot being shot at. Belgians are a reserved people, they don't quickly trust strangers, but none the less are willing to help you if you ask them. They also have a good amount of humor, mainly satire. We have the most types of beer in the world and also a small wine industry, so yes there are pubs and we like to drink. We have a lot of paid holiday days and the weather is sh$t so we leave the country in droves when we vacation. Most Belgians can swim, seeing there is a lot of water and rainfall in our country. In Brussels and most of the country the majority speaks french and in the northern part they also speak dutch. A good amount of English is known by 80% of the population. so you probably won't even have to speak french. Waterloo is not hard to get to, but there is very little to see there. Finally if you disregard that little island they call Great Britain we are situated by the ocean ;-) I hope this answers all your profound and silly questions. Best regards

As i am Belgian, i can answer these hilarious questions. 1. No, Belgian people are not allowed to live in their own capital. Punishable by death. 2. No, we never leave our homes because it is indeed extremely dangerous, and punishable by death. 3. Yes, we can walk in the street by night because we are all vampires and the sunlight burns our skin. 4. Yes, it is safe. Otherwise it is punishable by death. 5. We think of other people that they are lucky to be able to walk in the street by day. 6. What is a "sense of humor"? Belgians only have 5 senses. 😐 7. Belgium is famous for it's delicious beer, but unfortunately we are not able to drink it because there are only Irish pubs here. Also punishable by death. 8. Belgian people can only travel by swimming to other countries. 9. Do you speak French? 10. I personally have seen Ocean's 11, 12 and 13. 11. There have been known some people in the past who have had serious logistical problems in Waterloo. I hope you have a great stay in Brussels!

I am living in West Belgium past 21 years. Of course there are many Belgians living in Brussels. But you will notice that it is more international crowd there. Lots of tourists also walking around. Like all major big cities there are problems of pick pockets, petty criminals, shop lifting etc..but is a beautiful; international city. In Brussels they speak French mainly; but also Belgian version of Dutch. Belgian people are fun, laugh etc of course! Drinking alcohol is part of Belgian culture. We are famous for our beers. Belgium has a coastline from border of France to border of the Netherlands...and a coastal tram throughout!
