When we visited my sister in Coos Bay, we took our kids to Ming Park and everyone there was so friendly. I’m from North Bend- Class of ‘67. It’s a great place to raise kids. Tons of free things to do. Fresh air.

Wonderful video 👌 accurate on all topics (from my observations) I, recovering Californian was up and down the Oregon coast, looking for my forever now, Final destination Bandon, but find myself window shopping in Empire . Love Coos Bay and it’s surrounding. Big enough city on the coast to be considered a city yet quaint enough to be at town. Happy medium with that affordability mentioned.

I just bought a house in Bandon. I sort of consider that part of Coos Bay. I will be fishing out of Charleston and shopping in Coos Bay often. I'm sorry I didn't catch your videos earlier. I would have reached out to you. I love to fish, and I'm interested in photography, so this area is hard to beat.

Good video on one of my hometowns! My family moved there from St. Louis around Christmas of 1985. Although the crime rate was quite low one of my earliest memories was the murder of Nancy Buckles by her ex-husband Dennis. She was a customer of mine on my paper route (The World), and we wound up with her cat Morris a week or two after she died. He's still in the state pen up in Salem.

I live in Lake Havasu City AZ moving to Coos Bay. CB used to be cheaper to live by 42 percent compared to Havasu. It's dropped to 23 percent and I'm wondering what's happening. Anyway heat here in summers unbearable! Way over 100. Don't like dampness BUT have to live somewhere. Will admit, Lake Havasu is most beautiful place I've lived!

My boyfriend and I are looking to move to Coos Bay as a way to relocate to a place where we can explore a new area(nature-wise) and have a good home base for getting our businesses going, and maybe starting a family. We are currently in northern AZ, and while we feel "at home" here, buying is out of the question for us. Rent is also insane, so there isn't much getting ahead. Love the video! You listed all of the things we are looking for. My only real concern is the amount of grey days. I lived just east of seattle in the mountains for a few years and it was a pretty intense climate, but I think Coos Bay will actually be a lot more mild than Snoqualmie was. Thanks for your point of view!

Great question! I originally went to Portland to go to college, ended up starting a family… and college got delayed. I did end up graduating college though… and by the time I graduated I had a hard time figuring out how to leave the city. It took a long while for me to figure out.

@TheNotMeTube
@TheNotMeTube Жыл бұрын
@@OregonCoastLifeWithSarah I’d like a video about Reedsport. Seems to be a nice community just slightly inland from the coast and about halfway between Coos/NB and Florence. But it doesn’t seem to have found it’s way like other communities have after logging shut down. The downtown is very empty except for when the chainsaw carving is in town once a year. Guess that shouldn’t matter as long as I’m not planning to open a business, but still a bit concerning. At least there is a hospital and some decent shopping in town.

I grew up in the Coos Bay/Coquille area all of my childhood and teen years. It was beautiful, but back in the late 70's and early 80's it was so economically depressed you couldn't get a job. Now, property taxes are high, rampant crime and drug use, and the freedom we enjoyed in the 70's is gone. I am still in touch with friends there and they can't wait to get out of there. I saw the writing on the wall when California liberals started buying up places and bringing their liberal mindset. Hippie vegans, tree huggers, and arrogant people. The Port commission is so liberal in their planning that it has cost the locals great paying jobs and opportunities. And let's not forget the governor of Oregon who is so insane that students graduating from high school don't have to know math, reading or writing. All they have to do is show up. And the state is so anti-small business that it is nearly impossible to own a business there because of prohibitive taxes on them. Maybe coming from a large metropolis to a small community seems like a wonderful thing but it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Mold all over everything is common due to the weather,the weather is so dreary that the suicide rate is far above the national average, crime rate is pretty high for the population, mostly theft and assaults, and the schools preach CRT and lots and lots of leftwing ideology. Yeah, welcome to Coos Bay. Don't drop the soap!
