Outstanding festival. Has much more potential with travel and implementing other regions. Has potential for many food vendors. I was impressed.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Jasmine! I absolutely love the idea of a thrift festival. I've been wanting to organise something similar in Ghana, so it's wonderful to see other people who share the same values. It's such a fantastic way to promote sustainability and creativity in our community. Keep up the good work ❣

Eeiii Aisha nunu, enjoying good freebies. I really like how Jasmine has worked with Aisha over the years. The festival is such a good marketing tool for both the used clothing sellers, and a good way to promote affordable, used clothing plus reuse, reduce waste, recycle to control the use of natural resources as well as keep the environment clean and healthy. Good content Jasmine.

@@JasmineAmaa I am still following ooo. There is no way I won’t. I may not comment but continue to value and enjoy your posts. I recently thought of contacting you when I watched your video where you spent a day in Accra for your birthday and went to the closing for a house you had featured and sold. I have a home with an agent who I believe is not doing much to show it. However, I will honour our contract with her till the end and if it doesn’t sell, I may contact you to have a look at it. Do you do rentals? I also wanted to show you some great neighborhoods in Accra, very good central locations that I don’t see them being featured on KZbin. Stay blessed.

The outfits were like a laundry explosion 😬😬 Actually the sustainability aspect deserved a deeper dive; obroni wawu has swamped the middle to lower end of the Ghana clothing market. So i do wish designers, stylists and models present there had done a better job. It would inspire more people to transform basic pieces into bespoke, made to measure items. There is a reason every Accra neighbourhood has seamstresses and tailors- we are creative. Next time organisers should invite some seamstresses to show what they can do. A trip to to the clothing cliffs at Korlegonno would reinforce the inportance of recycling and repurposing these clothes. If the traders at Kantamanto would use rails and display their wares nicely, it would help the image of obroni wawu. Take your camera to Zongo Lane one morning! 😂 Going through items on the floor has to make customers feel junky.

good idea to add more seamstresses although there were a few present. Its a new event though Its only going to get better I am sure x

they already do in many African nations. a little research & you'll find out what happens when a country tried to stop the foreign clothes.

Most, if not all, of these used clothing is coming from outside Ghana. It is dumping. That's what the title of this festival really means. It depresses the production of original made-in-Ghana clothing. Should this be promoted?

Doesn’t obroni mean white person or foreigner?

it does, Obroni wawu means 'a white man died' so essentially suggesting a white man died and now we have his clothes.
