Thanks for the video and I'm glad that u brought all of this to light. No sugar coating anymore Ghana isn't what a lot of people are portraying. There are lots of scams and bad practices all over the place. So any one coming to reside and rent in Ghana take off the blinkers and expect similar issues until u can buy or build your own place. Ps there are laws in place but everything is slow paced and setup to frustrate u so as long as u come expecting things like this u will be fine

It’s so counterproductive for anyone in Africa to only require US Dollars. It significantly contributes to the devaluation of their own native currency by lessening the demand for it. All that does is strengthen the US dollar even more. And I’m certain your former landlord spent that money the moment you gave it to her and is trying to find ways to avoid having to give it back because she doesn’t have it. Good thing you got out of that situation. Sounds like she doesn’t have much else going on as far as income and is operating out of desperation.

You are definitely right. The cedis keeps getting less and less. The leaders are just greedy cuz they do most of their transactions and run their business in dollars. So they do it to favor them. As for that landlord she definitely don’t have the money that’s why she acting like that. Just be honest and tell me to give you time not make up stuff. But it is wat it is

In Ghana because cedi is so unstable its a nightmare for business owners in Ghana because they are constantly having to change the price of their goods/services to keep up sometimes daily/weekly. It leaves a bad taste in customers mouth that they paid less a week ago and dont understand why the price went up because the owner is paying more as well from their source. When you see people use the US dollar it's so they dont have to deal with the irate customer who thinks you are changing the price unfairly.

Hey Gabby, I've been a great admirer of you and also an avid viewer of your channel for a few years now, since charting your entire journey to return back home to Ghana from the US on this channel. As someone also of Ghanaian origin who's lived in the UK for the majority of my life, your story naturally impressed and resonated greatly with me and I've always therefore been a regular visitor to your channel, wishing to see you thrive and be successful with your new life in Ghana. Okay, so enough of the pleasantries and so let's now get down to the proper talk. As we will all acknowledge, when you make a conscious decision to share your privacy and personal life on KZbin, you invariably set yourself up to be seen and judged by a global audience without compromise. Everyone out there becomes a judge and jury on your life. So let me now give you my cold, hard, unfiltered assessment of your unfortunate experience with your landlady and there'll be no BS from me on this one. I'm about to give you my view from the lens of not only an individual of Ghanaian origin who lives abroad, but also one who has been a frequent visitor to Ghana over the past decade and therefore observed and experienced a lot in the country. One thing struck me from your text exchanges with your landlady. She's very eloquent and came across (in my opinion) as someone who's well-educated. Someone would ask whether that is of any relevance at all here? My response would be "Yes, absolutely" and it all comes down to context. It was interesting to also observe that when the landlady reported that large amounts of sanitary pads and condoms were significant (if not the main) contributory factors that had caused the blockage of your sewage system and proceeded to accuse you of being the perpetrator, you paid up for the damage and subsequent repair work. Now, as a male, there's no damn chance anyone would dare pin any such blockage, especially caused by sanitary pads, on me and there's absolutely no chance they'd be getting a single dime from me either to fix the problem on that basis. Besides, there's equally no chance I'd witness and/or endorse the use of my toilet for the disposal of either items in my home. Isn't that what a bathroom waste bin is there for? Now, I don't how many condoms and sanitary pads would be enough to be a significant contributor in blocking a sewage system, but I can only imagine that it would have to be an obscene amounts. The thought of excessive or obscene amounts of used condoms in anyone's home (worse still a female) isn't a good look let's be brutally honest and the fact you then chose to settle the bill without quibble or dispute, doesn't paint a good picture or perception either, I'm afraid. Many would perceive that to be an admission or acknowledgment of liability. You acknowledged in the early part of your video that your landlady's complaints about you included her dissatisfaction over the frequency and/or type of guest(s) you regularly received and of course if most of those guest(s) also happened to be male, then it would have been easy for her to pin those accusations on you, upon making the grim and sordid discovery of those large amounts of used condoms. It may not have been a factual deduction to make on her part, but it is very much a logical one that pretty much any other person would likewise make under the circumstances...........and especially so if you're perhaps her first female tenant in that property, or been the first female tenant in a very long time. Apologies if my candid opinion on this matter offends in any way, but I'm sure may observers would be thinking likewise.
@GabbyMack6 ай бұрын
Thank you for your compliments So let me address all you saying. So first. the reason I had to pay for this toilet thing was because she was not going to pay and I would have not been able to use my toilet. I never agreed that I did what she accused me of cuz I told her many times it was not. this lady accused me of many things and once I explained she knew it wasn’t me but would not acknowledge she was wrong. I was never taught to dispose any of those things in the toilet and according to many comments and people I knw personally this line has been used by many landlords. To avoid conflict I just paid and kept it going. As for my guest I literally had the same 5 family and friends visit me all the time. I was barely ever home cuz I was mostly at my shop. So I was never a bother trust me. The lady just doesn’t like people and want them in her space. She frowns every time she saw I had guest. Like it shouldn’t matter whether I have a male guest or female. None of my people will do that! I have just come to the conclusion that she just don’t want anyone in her space and it’s best if she doesn’t have a tenant at all. I made the mistake by always paying anytime she came up with something and I accept I should have not but for my peace I did and she still worried me at the end. At the end of the day I’m in a better place and at peace. I share these stories to inform people. I could care less what people think it makes me look like. This was a warning to diasporans and anyone who would come here and rent. So I hope u get my drift now
@PreciousHanah6 ай бұрын
Quick question living in the UK, have you ever been taught to dispose of condoms in the toilet? I am on of Gabby's friends/guests, if you watch Gabby's channel as often as you say you do, you would know... does Gabby's friends and family look like the kind of people that would do that? As you are saying the landlord is eloquent, we are also very eloquent and educated. We know better.
@user-gc5dx8fj5u6 ай бұрын
@@PreciousHanah, Gabby shared her personal experience on her KZbin channel and like anything shared to a global audience, you should expect differing opinions and views. That is how it works in the public domain and by the way, at no point do I categorically agree with or endorse the accusations of the landlady. There's a huge difference between stating emphatically that you believe someone is guilty of what they're accused of and expressing a view on how their actions may be perceived or interpreted. Take note. Now, Gabby herself has responded and countered back on my comments and that is all acknowledged and respected. We draw a line under it. I am certainly not going to get drawn into an unecessary and unproductive spat with a 'third person' like yourself on this matter. Thank you.
