I love Nanak Naam and the way gurbani is taught. There is a lovely and truthful wisdom. Applying gurbani to talking therapy is a very interesting concept. I don't sense from the videos I have watched so far that there is an understanding of the science behind depression though. The attachment trauma in childhood neglect/abuse causes a person to constantly feel alone and/or alien from society. The need for a relationship with another physical being supports the hormones to balance, and nurture from another human provides neurobiological grounding via mirror neurons for example. People who have attachment traumas cannot attach to 'god'. Humans are relational beings and need this to be much more visceral. You wouldn't leave a newborn baby to develop an emotional attachment to god, so adults who were not nurtured as babies will not know otherwise in later life. I hope someone can share their thoughts on this :)

@@jojames6621 Take away emotional attachment to worldly things and take away your ego/pride. Stay humble and do only good in your life. Life is a game. Keep God in your mind at all times and think about his creation which is just a game - this is real meditation. You will find happiness and everything will change. Don't run after desires. Change your mindset. You didn't choose your life, it has been given to you. God controls everything - good and bad. Your job is to reach eternal bliss with God which is heaven by saying his name - this is how you get rid of your ego/pride. Life is only temporary, you came into this life with nothing and you will leave with nothing. Your ego/pride is your worst enemy. I hope this helps you.

I have a silly doubt. Please clear my doubt. In one of your videos, you said "Sab Gobind Hai Sab Gobind Hai" and here you are saying "You (God) and I". In what way both these statements are related?
@amreennarang73745 жыл бұрын
shankar prasad Sab Gobind hai means everyone came from the lord and that we are a part of him. When we refer as you and I, it becomes how due to our life choices, we’ve moved far from the true lord and therefore, we need to work on us to merge back and be our TRUE selves.
@rdsinghhome5 жыл бұрын
Shankar, it’s just the perspective of the statement. If the statement is coming from a dualistic state of perception or the ultimate oneness perspective. (I think in Indic terminology it’s called yatharth and parmarth point of views). If a drop is in the ocean and perceives itself as a drop, then it’s state of perception is of you and me (the ocean and me). But, once it shifts its perspective then it understands that there is no difference no boundary to distinguish it from the ocean. Our daily living, analogies, explanations, are in duality based perception, hence the lingo of you and me will naturally slip in. So when we hear God and I, think of it as a colloquial handicap. Get past it and see if the perspective of that statement is to relate it to a person in duality and move his/her perception to oneness. Typically you will find that such statements refer to attitudes of humbleness, which is an effective way to minimize one’s ego and cell centered ness, which makes it easier to change one’s perspective to the non-dual oneness perspective. Sorry for any mistakes in my understanding.

I lasted twenty minutes.... between the smoke detector and the wailing kid, migraine. Not happy, laughing joyful child. Wailing kid. Migraine. If I wanted to struggle to hear someone through a child screaming, I would go to a playground. All I could think was, how was this ok for the parent holding the kid? Doesn't bother him/ her, they're used to it. That's all that matter, right? F the people trying to get the deep meaning of the talk. Aspirin for the migraine. To the parents... are there no doors? pacifiers? toys? Conscience? Consideration for others? Sorry, I come from a culture of consideration for others....

Tried to focus on listening throughout the sermon - the cry was very distracting- challenging remaining focused also with a sound of alarm since I was listening with headphones- made it to the end but personally I would have gone outside calm my baby and go back in - good manners help sharing life together- you were very good keeping your mind concentrated and talking the way you did - this is what kept me hanging in there - looking at your effort pushed me not to give up. Next time some of your collaborators ought to ask the mom to go - I am a mom too I would not have never imposed that way 😊 you were so consistent maybe some of your sound technicians can record excluding the cry of the child? Would be highly appreciated 😊
