i agree. I have a rabid distrust of people in society, from medical lies to artificial inflation and "kaarens" and HOAs. Now I live in my RV remotely. Simple work, simple life. THE RV COMMUNITY is the most caring, generally normal, helpful, kind and loving community i have ever experienced, and I love it

I have also found the RV community to in general be the most accepting and caring community I have ever encountered. I often wonder why that is. I have speculated that perhaps people who can live without the usual social constraints are a different kind of people. But, I just don't know. I only know the kindness is true and genuine.

@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 I call them the "leave me alone" group. I've been part of that groups since i was 4 minutes old. There is somethign about people who just don't give a darn about what others think and are happy to help others becasue - unlike "that other society" - they don't have fear or worry about 'lawsuits' or what not. Sure, more people = more problems, that's simple math. Yet, these people seem to understand that life is lived in moments, not cages or compliance. Glad i finally joined it, and i am NEVER EVER EVER going back!

@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Well, it's all about how a humans make use of their brain. People who use their brains solely to make money lose the value of fellow humans and become selfish to the point that they themselves won't be aware of it. Those who use their brains in understanding the functionality of this entire system cannot make lots of money but gain wisdom that helps in recognizing the value of humans. That's why, I have more respect to the financially poor than the so called rich and miserable people.

Now how can a person over 70, living off of $1200/mo SSI, happily living out of his vehicle and in a very minimalist way, not inspire others like myself to begin my minimalist life?? What an amazing spiritual man he is! I'm 57, and just began saving for my minimalist life out of my car, and hope to make the transition in a couple of months, and I'm scared of such a major change. But Don has given me such hope and encouragement to know that it will be overall fantastic, and I will learn so much. I too am on SSDI, making $1550/mo, so I need to just quit worrying and JUST DO IT!! Bless!

I hope the experience for you is everything you dream of Kevin. Don is pretty content to be a loner. Everyone is not. I would urge you to consider if you are someone who needs others in your life. If you do may I suggest that you connect with other like minded folks on the road so you have a community. Also, do try to become debt free if possible before heading out and have an ample emergency fund, particularly if you have an older vehicle. Good luck!

This human is a yogi. It took one sentence in a book to help him realize he was enlightened and needed further training. He trusted and followed his gut. From that moment on, his spiritual journey began. I spent years ignoring my gut and then one day, simply followed the call. He is much braver than I answering the call with “so much to lose.” The fact he is a yogi is clearly evident during the interview. It is almost comical once you understand the cues of someone living this way. There are others like him, in fact many. They make soup in the street, clean homes, and yes, wash windows. So be careful how you treat others, you never know who you are talking to. Bless you brother. Namaste.

I hope I can, but this was really a lucky fluke as Don really does not like media exposure. It was only .after we had engaged in a lengthy and spirited at times conversation that lasted most of the morning that he agreed to allow me to interview him. There were a lot of questions I would have liked to have asked and included in the interview including some about experiences he shared with me that I think significantly impacted some of his decisions. But, they were so personal I wasn't comfortable addressing them in such a short and introductory video. I don't even have Don's phone number. But, if it is meant for.me to interview him again our paths will cross again.

@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 yes, you seemed unprepared. You didn't even ask him his last name so that perhaps someone wanted to buy and read one of his books. Nor did you ask where or how or what he eats. Good luck. Don't is a beautiful soul

I’ve met a lot of successful people in my life but I respect this man more than any of them, he inspires people especially that he wrote a book. He doesn’t let things get him down, and has a plan for his life.

As long as Don is content and satisfied with his health, more power to him. His SS is enough to get him by in this type of chosen living. It’s good this choice is available to him. It’s what he can afford and he likes it. That’s all he needs.

He really is a lovely person. I could have spoke with him for hours more asking questions but we had already talked for a long time before taping the video and I felt c I was really imposing on his time. It was not a scheduled interview.
