Came across your channel and I’m hooked. Thank you for sharing and providing an invaluable resource for people who want to know Oahu from a local’s perspective. Eh! Remember to turn off your dome light in the back before you run your battery down. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

That small puu above the firehouse at the end of the video was my chill and watch the sunset spot. Right down the street from my old house.

So when did that Christmas tree become a thing? I don't remember it there in my childhood, but then again I'm a westie lol

@@movingtohawaii it wasn’t there during my time. It was only a cell tower type buss(t) up kine structure. Only myself and local dog walkers were up there. I’ve been away for awhile now on the mainland chasing $$$$$$$ to get back. You’re my realtor this year in October/November when work pau. Kaimuki to Diamond Head side ( Ohua st - Diamond Head) more quiet.

Ohua to D.Head Waikiki if can.

Haha my sister went to Sacred Heart '58 to '60, loved it. My brothers went to St. Patricks. We moved to Coronado in '60 and never moved back, although my own son now lives in Honolulu, so full circle! Nice videos.

The main strip in Kaimuki was soo cool when I was living there in the 90s to me. I'd hang at Kaimuki Ques, go Geeko books, the public library next door, even Good Will and the 2 video game shops....

I really like these neighborhood videos. I watch the vids for individual homes and I have to bring up a map to actually see where on the island it is. Thanks.

Mahalo for watching our neighborhood tour videos. We've been talking about integrating more maps in these videos to help our audience get a feel for where we are in relation to the island(s)

Another great video Derek! Keep up the great work. Thanks also for doing the short food tours - I know how hard it must be to do trying to be healthy lol but it's an undeniable feature of Hawaii people are interested in.

5:44 - Yes, that's a private home. It's been unoccupied for years. The owner is very wealthy and is from Thailand, I believe.

Thx for another nice video. I always wondered why Kahala is as expensive as it is - seems to me for the money that I’d rather live in a few other spots like Lanikai, etc. The obvious answer seems to be that it’s so close to Town and all the amenities while offering the larger lots. I’d still choose Kailua or Lanikai, though! I have been considering moving to Oahu sooner to perhaps have my daughter go to Punahou - I know it’s competitive - so will look forward to more videos around the neighborhoods in Town…

Gus, we just shot our Manoa/Makiki video and it will be coming out in a few weeks. We pass by Punahou in that one.

First time subscribing to anyone, really appreciate your local views in your videos. I've been through most of your videos and now have a rough feel for how each neighborhood is. Looking forward to finally retiring to the island when the kids are finally out of the house in a few (many) years... Most importantly, now I know not to wear a suit to a job interview in my Mustang convertible so I should head over to Long's to pick up my Jesus slippers.
@movingtohawaii3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha. Maybe not the Jesus slippers for the job interview. Thank you for the positive feedback, Darren.

YOU SHOULD BRING YOUR POD CASTS INTO THE FUTURE, YOUR GAS PRICES ARE WAY LOW, HOME PRICES ARE UP FROM YOUR POINT OF VIEW ABOUT $200,000.00 +. ALL COSTS ARE UP 100 PERCENT. YOU ARE OUT OF STEP, BRING YOUR COSTS INCLUDING SHIPPING FROM THE MAINLAND, COSTS OF AIR FARE AND SO ON. CAR RENTALS ARE OUT OF STEP, YOU ARE WAY OFF, SORRY, BUT TRUE.

James, although you seem like you lead a great life, you’ve left multiple negative comments on the channel. We do have to rely on the viewer to understand that videos are recorded and then time keeps moving. Do you watch Cosby Show reruns and get upset that they’re drinking $1/gallon milk? 🤙🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😊
