stayed at stratford, tbf, I was already warned about the crime rate but it seems fine as long as you're vigilant and walking with a lot of people. I also recommend if you're going home late at night, best to get the busses that stops close to your home. less percentage to get robbed.

I lived in Stratford for 36 years from birth, crime was the number 1 issue, also Newham Council were rubbish and so was Newham General Hospital. I am surprised how much property prices are now since the late 90's knowing how dangerous it is to live in Stratford

I was born in WestHam back in the early 60s in Stratford the biggest shop was called Boardmans I can only say it was like the Grace Brothers store from are you being served

What's the cost of the same 1 bedroom apartment in the low cost areas of Stratford. Those of us who can afford to rent in high end areas or buy property also need info about affordable housing.

How is Stratford for an international uni student? And just how bad is the crime?

you'll be alright, especially if you're moving into angel lane or unite. Unite is on the nice side of Stratford. Lived there for a year and felt safer than pretty much anywhere else in London. I now live in old Stratford, right by the shopping centre. It's not so bad, feels a bit dodgy but it's alright. Lots of police about too.
