Watched from Mazatlan. Spot on. Great as always and very accurate. Been here 8 of the last 12 months. Beware the Rainy Season. There are going to be days and even nights where unless you love the heat, you will be uncomfortable. But I've managed it well and just time my walks in the evening or early EARLY morning. Some other days have been just fine. The food is off the charts. Your health will improve and your quality of life is better, IMO. Another word of caution: Watch where you walk. Sidewalks can be a danger in the Centro Historico areas especially, but stay aware and you'll be fine. I love this city. Even better? Come and then venture out into some of the smaller pueblos in the hills away from the traffic! :)

Excellent comprehensive video. My fiance, who is from MZT, was able to find us a great rental (monthly) in Centro blocks from the Cathedral on Facebook below market rates. It was a huge fully renovated 2 bedroom condo with a terrace, fully furnished with internet and electricity included for under $700/mo. We spent a great summer there. Sometimes it helps to look in non conventional places. Mazatlan is a beautiful city with some of the friendliest people in Mexico. I might be a little bias ;-)

Great video just like Cozumel! I came to Mazatlan 24 years ago for some summer courses at ITESM or I think also called Tec de Monterrey. It was a lot of fun. I think I want to come back for a couple months this summer from Houston, TX, USA. I’m not sure to do Airbnb or get on the ground there and try to rent an apartment for a month or two. I work remote so I may stay for a month I may stay for the full 6 months ifI can get the 180 tourist one. Anyways I subscribed to your news letter excited to learn more!

It was an island years ago and most of the swamp river was back filled for farming. We toured the bay and travelled up the old river and top at a place across the highway that would take us to the airport and back to Mazatlan. The highway also would take us from the airport to Stone Island where we stayed which is a short distance

@@kamlee4010 I believe you're thinking of El Faro, the lighthouse. It was originally an island, but land was filled in to connect it. Everything I've found for Isla de la Piedra says it's always (at least going back 100 years) been an isthmus/peninsula. There are still 'jungle' boat tours through the mangroves there. If you have a source for different information I would enjoy reading it!

Well done video. Very informative with great detail. One small comment, it would've been helpful if when talking about the cost of rent, food, etc, in Mexican pesos you would've also said what the U.S. dollar equivalent was. Other than that, I commend you on the amazing content you provided.
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide 8 ай бұрын
Sorry but that changes every single day because the exchange rates fluctuate. I think it's better to check on xe.com - I used to add all the dollar equivalents on previous videos but now they are irrelevant because the peso is no longer worth the same amount. And people comment upset that I am spreading misinformation. So this is the best way. Thanks for watching!

@@MexicoRelocationGuide you are doing it right...when things are priced in local currency that is how it should be presented. It's so easy to do a quick conversion! I think of that as similar to when people say they don't want to learn Spanish but are upset that not everyone speaks English. In Mexico things are priced in pesos.

Hi Mitchell. All of our recommended contacts are part of our complete Mexico Relocation Guide. mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/ When you buy the guide you get instant access to our directory of contacts. However, most realtors won't love the idea of showing you places if you are not ready to sign a lease or rent right away. So because of that, I would recommend looking online first on sites like inmuebles24.com, Facebook marketplace, or on Facebook groups.

I think your housing costs are much lower than reality. In the summer, advertised apartments are much less than snowbird season. The prices you have shown are definitely not what you see in the winter months. Generally, I’d say the average 1 bedroom decent apt (that expats would be comfortable in) is about $900-$1100 and 2 bedrooms $1200 to $1500.

How far is the rural area from the Centro? We are looking for a country house with at least .5-1 acre. If anyone know of info, please let me know.

I have 4 children. Can i live in mexico for a year and enroll children in school? do i need a temp residency or a regular visiting visa?

Schools usually require you to enroll your kids at least a few months before the school year. Although every private school varies with their admissions process. But yes you can enroll them for only a year. I don't think you need a residency visa, but they will probably want school transcripts translated

I am a doctor and I would like to add a point about government-run public health. In no way will they receive you for free for being American or Canadian, you can buy a membership that costs between 10,000 and 15,000 pesos per month and does not include obesity surgery or dental care, which is very expensive in your country, and if you are a resident, you do not have right to receive medical care, because you have never paid taxes and were not born here, it is in article 4 of our constitution, that only Mexicans have the right to free medical care. You will have to pay a membership monthly if you want medical care from the Mexican health system. Thank you for your attention, greetings and enjoy the beauty of our city.

Respectfully disagree. I have lived in Mexico over 5 years and in Mazatlan for one, in a tower facing the ocean, from Nov 22 to Nov 23 and it cost 38,000 pesos a month...the view was awesome.. Mazatlan is for younger Spanish muchachos and mochas who want to party HARD. It was the loudest town I have ever lived in. No one speaks spanish (I do and it made it easy to live there). There is a lot to do but I suggest living a month there. Puerta Vallarta would be a much better choice. The reason I moved to Mazatlan was I heard all these great things and believed them. It WAS fun and I loved it but could not wait until my lease expired. I hope somebody listens, I didn't and what a shock!
