Only if there is a really large parking lot shared with other stores or just loyal security:) Also I would recommend you to get an inverter (700-800w) - it allows you to have a power outlet, so you can have a fridge in the car or use laptop or even portable kettle. I know this option is risky for some but it worked out for me when i was homeless for a short period of time. I own a red 08 Dodge caravan and was able to blend in with other cars in residential areas. Parking of the side of houses or in between houses and apartment lots. Yes it was a lot of moving around until i found a place i felt safe and stayed there for the remainder of my homeliness which was on the side of a house in a quite neighborhood. I would never stay past 1pm and always return late depending on the day which was usually 8-11pm so it would be less suspicious. But rlly good luck to you because i struggled terribly when I was homeless. I put my pride away and moved back to my hometown back in with my mom and i can't tell you how grateful i am.

You are already an artist. You simply need to attract money to travel and paint and pay bills. Find work part time or full time that you are OK doing --with hours that will allow you to make art. I knew actors and artists who worked office jobs, in hospitality, restaurants, factories, hospitals, retail and Bars. Most creatives that I know work day jobs and have schedules that allow them to build their creative businesses. It is possible to connect with a day job for everyday expenses and then have a bit of time to build your art business. In these lean times it’s not as easy as it should be but it’s possible. Find local Art community centers to make additional friends and network. If you can, stay in Cali that's great place to be an artist. Hang in there with the car, it's cheap rent. Wishing you the best.

Thank you for this! I agree, I also know so many Talented people who can't make a living from their art, this should not stop anyone from doing it! Thank you for the comment!

Holy smoke! You're in Carlsbad?!? No way! A once special place in my life! I literally love being "homeless " now. I worked for American Airlines as a tech for 36 years and now living in my little Ford Transit van. My travel, via my travel privileges, have taken me to places I would consider staying. Like the Faroe Islands, Newfoundland-Labrador, Shetland Islands. I just can't imagine being alone in another home...other than my little van. But the places I've been I never dreamed the people would constantly be so embracing. Like Longyearbyen, Svalbard! (WHERE?!?) I'm blessed to absolutely love the cold . Unfortunately I believe it's only a matter of time before I finally ditch the USA. I've dual citizenship with Canada/UK.And I'm rambling. Sorry😢 Just found your channel tonight here...parked in a Walmart parking lot...in Biddeford, Me.. Ni-night

That's awesome! I actually considered the ford transit... but i got nervous that they have been discontinued (along with many other mini cargo vans) ... I would love to some day be able to visit Canada and camp over there! Thank you for the support!

I lived like that in several months, UK. I wouldn't call it "freedom". To reach financial freedom (and whatever freedom) - I think it's the great illusion of our entire fucked uр human society. I am 56, living now in very rural Bulgaria, in an old house of clay and straw.

I left southern California in 03, with my wife and kids. Sold our house, and moved to the central mid west. It was the best decision I have ever made. When my oldest daughter wanted to go to college and get a degree in art, I said hell no, get a degree in a field that you can earn a living in. She chose nursing. Now she in an NP, paid her loans off, and student loan are almost paid off. She bought her first house last year, and travels all over the world.

Sometimes you've got to follow your passion or you'll be dead inside. That's nice your daughter found something she enjoys and hopefully she can do her art on the side.
@firefeethok_tui2355Ай бұрын
@@mc2043life is not about following your passion. Its about surviving. “Passions and things we love” as an idea for happiness are modern concepts that have caused the collapse of stability in people lives in general. Before 1900 or so there were no wage earning jobs that people could count on just to buy food, they scrounged constantly and when steady wages came along, it was a gift to people. It is what allowed the development of modern living. Its a bit ruined by big bussiness going backwards in practice and treatments of employees and trying to cheat/overwork people, like when wage earning was first new. (People worked for cents an hour with no rights or hour limits). Get a career, a profession and do it well. Free time is for passions and loves.

It's terrible that people can't just park
@english745112 күн бұрын
Not in big cities. Criminals abandon cars on the street and residents of nice areas report them and they are towed. Here I don’t get people sleeping in cars or vans and not in private property lots. Don’t know where car livers park but NIMBY. The problem is californiated and then you have cars and vans filling up the block. It’s like a virus. I’m sympathetic about it but the line of cars parked is not okay.
