I am a water person so just seeing the lake brings me peace. They close the pier at times because the waves have washed people off and some have drowned.

Tip: when cooking red sauce for pasta- put a peeled carrot on the sauce ( large chunk) and it pulls out the acid… no need to add sugar. ☺️

Hi, I watched a “ vanlifer” who got mice because of parking in the forest. She was advices to grate “ Irish spring soap” and put it under her van or anywhere where they can come in. This keeps them away. Just a heads up since it’s getting cold and they look for warm places to go.

Or you can spray peppermint oil

You can get mice no matter where you park. They can enter through a dime size hole. Stuff hole with a fine steel wool in addition to the Irish Spring soap. I don’t grate, it I just put a piece of soap near openings. Mice are very destructive. They will eat wiring, furniture stuffings, cardboard cereal boxes, cake mix, etc. (put food in sturdy containers)

I think you should get a shirt printed with, "I'm sad, it's over" with an empty plate!!!!! I wish I knew about Vanlife when my sister and I used to take road trips. We probably would have saved money on hotels. I don't think I couĺd handle it full time. Having to hunt for parking, toilets, showers and fill and dump stations! Perhaps when I was younger and without my current health issues. I have to say I love watching people like yourself. I must be living vicariously through you!! I love looking at van makeovers. It is fun to see what people do. Some are so creative finding ways to use up every nook and cranny! The beach was beautiful. I can just imagine how jam packed it is on sumㅕmer days! The pier was nice except for the big crashing waves. I love lighthouses!

I live in Kenosha Wisconsin , the other side of Lake Michigan, we have a very similar lighthouse and pier. Lake Michigan never gets old, it truly is a GREAT Lake.

Your right Michigan is a beautiful state! Born and raised here. I'm from Lansing. I now live in the Grand Rapids area. Have been on that same Pier many times. Grand Haven is my favorite place to go, to clear my head. Pack a lunch and Enjoy God's creation. Read your word. If you stay long enough Enjoy the light show,it's beautiful.

I love it here. Years ago there was no paid parking. We used to be able to walk the beach at night but that no longer is in effect . It's still one of the most beautiful areas in Michigan. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!! ❤

I was wondering what about giant garbage bag for where u hook up your clean water. Put it down right before u do the clean hoses and pick it up and through it out when ur done. So if you drop the hose, it will be safe.
