Love the video, love your journey, love how you appreciate our prime minister. The best thing we did was come together as a country with the lock downs and it was a huge sacrifice for our country but now nearly a year later, it was a sacrifice worth taking, we now live the same way before the virus hit and most days I don't even think of the virus because we really don't have a reason too. You are now here and you're now a kiwi. Welcome home Carrie 😀 🇳🇿

This video made me burst out sobbing. I didn't know they said "welcome home" when you arrive with a NZ passport. As a US/NZ dual citizen as well, with a deep, deep desire to move to a small piece of land in NZ, these videos have been a safe haven for me. A gentle way of reminding me what my life will be like in 5 years or so, but also helping me be more mindful and enjoying my life where it is now. My heart has been in NZ since I visited almost 15 years ago, and this channel is really keeping me going and inspiring me in more ways than I can explain. Thank you so much 💗

Welcome to New Zealand again. I'm about an hour and a half north of where you are in Te Awamutu a semi rural town just south of Hamilton. I feel very blessed living in this country, we have been able to mix with others over Christmas and have a relatively normal summer break, not only is it thanks to our wonderful prime minister but also Dr Ashley Bloomfield and each and every New Zealander. I hope you enjoy your journey in our country and look forward to more video content from you and seeing the towns and cities you visit.

@@humphreyferguson9748 agreed. As an Australian living overseas (I stayed because we have been living in the US for many years, and didn't want to put an unnecessary burden on my country), it is terrifying knowing that our passports are pretty much worthless in an emergency. I know of Australian children who needed to get asylum in Canada because Australia won't repatriate them. It's disgusting.

We are only a short drive away from christchurch. Hamner springs is close enough for a day trip. Lake tekapo, Kiakoura and Akaroa are all near by too. We have a husky mix who i take on walks all over. I think both islands are great; we lived on the north island not too far from where you are currently. Both islands are amazing. Pegasus' perks are we are a fresh new area, Nothing over 10 years old, we have a strong sense of community, we have a gorgeous golf course, a lovely lake which is perfect for walking the dog around daily and our beach is fabulous. Kai pai (good job) on your pronunciation of Taupō. Thank you for that. The Tui (native bird) has the most beautiful sound and song.
