I adore that third apartment. It has personality & potential.
@banana9106
@banana9106 Жыл бұрын
The first apartment has greater potential, as it is 36 foot by 16 foot. Could build a loft over the door like in apartment 3, but extend it outwards to be level with kitchen cabinets. Could have frosted glass to disguise bed area. Underneath, could have closets to the right of the door. Could improve the kitchen by having it in a u shape and there would probably still be a 20 foot by 16 foot space left for one hell of a living room/diner. Paint the ceiling in light reflective white and the walls a warmer cream colour, install lots of coloured glass pendant lights and bingo, an interesting living space.

Def an artist's studio. Lot of light, room for large canvases. Party space or pop-up gallery if landlord's cool with that.
@banana9106
@banana9106 Жыл бұрын
@@mattpierard Exactly, it is a huge space and installing a bed over the door would create a hidden private space. Plenty of space to paint and store/display paintings

Congrats on reaching 400K, your channel is definitely the best!!! Absolutely, the best apartments you have shown in a long time. Cheap authentic lofts is a building that is undergoing a decent transformation. Great lofts are always in somewhat dodgy neighborhoods and that gives them an artistic and edgy feel. The basic, but decently functional kitchen and bathroom just add to the flavor of the whole loft vibe and force the tenant to be really creative in making this a cool home. Definitely a good find!!!

@jfox9126

I definitely like that last one. The first two are just a little bit rough looking but I really like the extra loft spaces (2!) in the last one. It would be a nice way to have a guest bed for people visiting. You would think more studios would be built out to be space efficient like that but maybe it’s not legal for landlords to put loft spaces in. I also think a more substantial divider between areas in a studio, maybe one made of thick glass tiles is something that would appeal to renters because most people like a little privacy for their sleeping area but temporary dividers look cheap.
@banana9106
@banana9106 Жыл бұрын
The first one is large enough to have potential, with a high enough roof to install a loft by the door, it could be bought forward in line with the kitchen cabinets and a closet could be installed underneath to the right of the door. A separate kitchen could be created using opaque glass bricks and an opaque glass door to a living space would mean that a sofa bed in the lounge area could be used for occasional guests. Paint the black ceiling with light reflective paint, and the walls a warm cream, add in plenty of multicoloured pendant lights and presto you would have a great living space.

Taking transit make you more beliveable. First apt.: Windows do not line up with the wall on one side. Put a series of BRs & BA down this wall using tarps or curtains. Low cost industrial look. Easy to put up on tracks. Put in Murphy bed and side cabinets in these studios. I got mine at Lancaster Handcraft.

First apt: install a mezzanine loft over front door, bringing it out as far as the kitchen cabinets. Put in coloured glass bricks to partially disguise bed area. Underneath to the right of the door install a closet. Put in a u shaped kitchen. Paint the ceiling with reflective white ceiling paint, paint the walls a warm cream, add plenty of different coloured glass pendant lights and a few large artwork and voila, a cool but functional living space is created.

Cash and Dominick ( Dom always finds the best eclectic spaces) I like the smaller one I know it didn’t have alot of windows but it did have the skylights and my mind immediately went to like separating it up with three or four big older rugs from the antique store or goodwill the same with furniture, cool older couch and chairs, wrought iron bed cool old room divider or two but not dark or solid got to allow for light and space. Okay I’ll take the decorative hat off now. But hey cool spaces and affordable for the most part!

Just a thought. It is fun on some levels to see these tiny space saving, somewhat affordable, unique apartments on this channel. However, the flipside is the horror of living in a City where people are forced to live like this or be stuck with 4 or 5 "roommates" in order to afford to live here. This is like "Van Life" in a way and its very dark that this country is accepting/coming to this. Because the next step down is what? Living on the streets? Pitching a tent?
@AdrienneMint
@AdrienneMint Жыл бұрын
I totally disagree with what you wrote. It’s not a horror to live in NYC. I live here for decades and love it, like the rest of the New Yorkers. We wouldn’t live anyplace else. This is the first best place to live. It’s New York. What are you even talking about? Didn’t you ever hear of anyone living in an apartment? It’s not a horror, it’s great. You must be a farmer or something.

Van life is much worse than NYC living, especially when entrepreneurs are starting businesses in one of the most lucrative places in earth (NYC). The only people who benefit from vanlife are off-roading adventurers/scientists. Everyone else is victimized and parking in mostly dangerous/abandoned areas of cities. And there are people living in tents…. You can just Google tent cities in US.
