My younger sister Gracie (Lives in Puna) has about 30 or so feral chickens who just happened to show up on their property. She loves her little friends and buys scratch to feed her "crew". I enjoy them when I come home. The males can be BULLIES! She too, has had similar unfateful events with them also. I personally witnessed this unfortunately. Loved where you placed the fern. Glad you have made such a sweet friend as Barb and that you both are tag teaming (along with others) in your beautification of the Aina. Mahalo for that! My mother was half Turkish and Puerto Rican. My Grandpa is from Turkey. His name was Balia. What a kind and gentle man. I have not tried any Turkish dishes yet. However, perhaps one day I shall. Aloha Wayne. I love your long comment, no worries there. Michael teases me about writing long texts and says I can not write short anything, so you’re good there. Having a close and friendly out look with wild animals is so important here and sounds like your sister enjoys their company as well. My mom’s side of the family also have some Turkish in them, and I also have an aunt who lives in Cyprus. I love their food also. Hope you and your family have the best year to come, and I appreciate you watching.

Oh yeeeaaay! Mid March you'll be there for good? I'll be back on the Big Island Mid March. This time, bringing Mom so she can see it and be able to help us decide where we want to live. I love your non-traditional Christmas. Wonderful memories. As for movies, we always watch Scrooged (Starring Bill Murray) and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
