Jobs is the biggest problem in amount of pay, because it's still not expensive to buy a house, and no state income taxes. Only federal and property taxes. It's definitely a place to shop around for EVERYTHING, if looking for good stuff for better prices. That's because plenty exists. More expensive is because much more convenient. It also depends on how far want to live from everything else, because there's new neighborhoods like that, especially going east towards Tallahassee. I'll veer off from where I'm going, curious, and it's OMG look all building here in the middle of nowhere. That's because of the new infrastructures, bridges and highways. Santa Rosa County FL. It's sometimes as if Florida is getting ready to take in the rest of the country. All of New York City and New Jersey. Lol All red Republicans, where can't get rid of the Democrats anymore because rigged rigged rigged tight.

I appreciate the insight, looking to move to Pensacola, FL from Anchorage, AK. Visited friends a few times. My wife loves it. I have a few properties up here, couple pending for sale. The central locations, minutes from airport, I made Airbnbs out of, pretty profitable because of location, I lucked out not knowing what I was doing. Just tired of the cold, hits your bones every morning going to work. Selling everything, looking to rent there, see how we like it, at our age, don't want to be tied down to a 30 year mortgage, we love to travel.

It sometimes shocks me when ppl move here or someone mentions Pensacola online because being from here it always seems SMALL or possibly boring sometimes. I’ve watched your real estate videos and never knew Pensacola would be place ppl would really choose to go. I love being from here, I just wish there were more black spaces and like you mentioned, more food options. It is indeed like a retirement/military city but I think they are trying to come up from that . It’s going to take more than building a bunch of expensive houses and apartments to fix that tho. Also, it’s a lot of gentrification happening in the downtown area.

I have lived here my whole life, but have traveled extensively. Pensacola has changed in many ways and has stayed the same in many ways. It is a town that is growing but is resistant to change. The locals want to keep a small town feel, but the growth is relentless. Crime has become an increasing problem across the country, and Pensacola is no exception. There are efforts being made to modernize our downtown, but the crime heavy parts of town are in need of work. I would avoid west Pensacola. It really is a lost cause. Stay away from places near the interstates as well to avoid the drugs and homeless population. Pensacola is a tale of two cities. On one side is the touristy highlights, and the other is the poor and crime. Stick to the east side of town and downtown. After midnight, downtown can be dangerous. Pensacola is growing and has growing pains. They need to address the crime problem and embrace modern city realities. It is a medium sized town trying to come off as a small town. I love Pensacola, and will remain here, but I am ready for this town to accept that it is growing and want it to embrace that growth and lose the small town mentality. It needs to be managed for what it is and not what the locals wish it to be. We got problems here that need serious attention.

I moved to Pensacola from Los Angeles and like it very much. I was not expecting people to be so friendly and it feels more relaxing as a place to live. There is enough variety of restaurants and shopping plsces. They have high end and low end restaurants. Also compared to Miami Pensacola is close to Alabama so you can feel and experience the southern hospitality. When I moved into my home the cars driving by on my street would wave hello! In L.A. half the folks there don't care about your problems, the other half are glad you have them. Also the beaches are to die. I have been around the world and think these beaches are as good as the islands in the Philippines and Thailand. Also No biteing sand flys! Sand stays cool under the sun, water is clear. The only thing I noticed and it's a strange one in LA the fast food drive through places have very friendly people that work the window and as service people inside, maybe they are trained that way Like at In and Out Burger and Chic Falay all the staff are super friendly, but in Pensacola I don't see that, I don't know where they find their employees. I was going to Lowes and Home Depot every day to buy things for my new home and always fell into a conversation with the folks inside, customers and workers very layed back. I also do lke the change of weather and the fact that it rains hard. In LA everyday is the same.

I agree with Martez, this is a retirement town. Personally I love it this way. I do tell the younger generation to ask someone your age about things to do here. I did retire here and my wife and I do retired things: walk, take the grand to the beach; church; eat out at times, but backyard cookout frequently. We do go to some events around town and sporting events; did you notice I didn't mention clubs. Younger folk, I will leave that to you. I am happy with the P'Cola lifestyle.

Love to see the hustle Martez. Great production quality for your videos. Disagree with the cons on traffic and food options though. Relatively speaking, the only time you run into traffic is going from Pensacola out to Pensacola Beach but that is really only from the months of May through Labor day. Also depends on what time you decide to venture out to the beach. With the new tolling system on the beach, the traffic is way better. But if I had to guestimate, I would say my normal travel time from my house, in Warrington, to my spot on the beach, which is about 8 blocks past the fire-station, is 30-45 minutes. Not counting if there is a wreck on 3-mile. But for the majority of the year, it's smooth sailing out there. Food-wise, don't disagree with how late things are open, that is definitely a con. But you can find authentic mom and pop shops for various ethnicities but they exists on the west-side of the Pensacola area. Mainly Warrington and Brownsville. They do exist in other areas of Pensacola, but since they are such a small operation, they don't exactly market themselves well. So you got to hunt for them a bit. A great group I'd recommend to finding these smaller niche places is the Pensacola Foodies Facebook group. That being said, overall great video and I'll hit ya up next time I'm ready to purchase my next property. Cheers!

I am from WA, explored it for a week or so, my conclusion was nice place to live, good weather but more good spot (close to the beaches are super expensive), even out of state like me (WA housing is crazy like California) still consider this place is to expensive. But the very very important thing: not a lot of work, you can't do much if you have no income. I’m from Atlanta too!!!!!!!! I live in Raleigh NC right now and plan to move to move to Pensacola by July!!! I’m toooo excited 😊 have you moved yet @beautifulheights? If so, fill me in. I’ve been looking at the apartment options and being bouchée doesn’t really help. Their apartments options are gross compared to what I’ve seen in the A and Raleigh. If you sample upon some new apartments let me know. I’ve only seen 2 communities … so sad. But I’m still excited 😆

@@funkneetube heyyy! I moved in February and LOVEEEEE IT. Legit almost everyday feels like a vacation😂! There’s a lot more of us here than I was expecting, and it’s very diverse partly due to the naval base nearby. There are plenty nice communities here. I’m a lil bougie 🤑 too girl and I’m pretty satisfied with where I’m at. I’ll email you a list of nice apartments. Just drop your email! MAKE THE MOVE YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Everything he said in this video is facts! 💯🎯 There’s nothing there besides the beach, seafood, and Whataburgerrrrrrrr lol. The job market sucks there! The public school system is meh, depending on which school. Those moving there from Atlanta don’t expect to find something to do all the time. It’s slower than Atlanta. The traffic isn’t bad like in Atlanta. I moved to Sandy Springs from Pensacola for abt 6 years, then recently moved to the Bay Area in FL. Crab Island in Destin is dope. Gallery Night is fun though! I wouldn’t stay in Mayfair, Montclair, Warrington, and Shantytown. I def would NOT 🚫 stay in the apartment complexes called Oakwood Terrace, Warrington Village and Pensacola Village. Matter of fact just stay away from them 3 😂😂 I’d do East Hill, Downtown Historic District, Perdido Key (not really Pensacola though), and the Scenic area. Overall Pensacola is cool! 😊☺️

I was born in Pensacola and moved away when I was 14 to Orlando, now I have been back for about 15 years and that was for my (at the time) young kids. And everything you have just described is the truth. But you forgot to say how racist and high crime this city has become. Also highly expensive with no competitive wages. So a person or family had better have a plan and a real passion to live out the rest of your life in Pensacola Florida cause local people can probably cut on one hand how often we really get to see the Beaches or anything that would attack someone here. Don't mean to be Debbie downer but if you know, well you just know 😢

We, ère in Pensacola vacationing for a week. We are from Western Missouri. A nice clean place and friendly locals. Wonderful downtown all together. The cons: It is very spread out therefore, Not a walkable community. Dangerous to cycle there due to too many cars and drivers going too fast and not paying attention. Public transit seems skeletal. No streetcars nor light rail. Also, the Amtrak Sunset Limited service stopped in 2005 due to Katrina. Certainly not a place where to retire to and live car free.

The only thing I have to say when it comes to authentic food. This is the city of 5 flags. The culture diversity is amazing. Make friends from many different cultures and you will have authentic food. I have Korean friends, Filipino friends, Thai friends, Vietnamese friends, Mediterranean friends, friends from Mexico, friends from Italy, etc. I never have any issues finding real authentic food. I also have been here since I was 15 and can give you little hole in the wall places where you can also have authentic food.

I'm moving here after college or somewhere close by in this area! With that being said I got 2 questions for you bro. 1.) Should i wait til the housing market gets better to move here and be stable and comfrotable. 2.) What is the job market REALLY REALLY LIKE HERE? My major is Mortuary Science. And what do they pay salary wise?
@MoWorld20032 жыл бұрын
While I can't predict if the housing market will get better, I can tell you that the cost of housing is far more expensive than what the wages support for that area. If you do find something affordable, it's probably gonna be crappy housing. When you really explore Pensacola, you will find they have a lot of shoddy looking neighborhoods. The job market there sucks, unless you work in healthcare (RNs/Drs), work at Navy Federal, or are in the military. For context, when I was living there, with a degree I was making anywhere from $10-$15/hr. I randomly applied for a job in another city and got hired doing the same thing for $22/hr. Fast forward 6 years later and I'm making 6 figures. Most of the people I grew up with there who got degrees have not returned to Pensacola because they make a better living and have a higher quality of life elsewhere. Also the racism....it's very covert but if you take a look at the comments on WEAR Pensacola News Facebook....you will get an idea of how they really feel. Very conservative, country, and racist.
@MattCampbelification3 жыл бұрын
PNS is not expensive at all. If you fly with American Airlines, you can literally get to dallas for 120 bucks, then you can fly anywhere you want. So what you said about PNS being more expensive is false. Also, the parking is cheap at the airport, cheaper than NOLA and you would spend more money in gasoline and wear and tear going to nola and back. So yeah, not true about the airport. In fact, PNS is a really awesome airport for the area. I use it all the time with American airlines, super inexpensive!!
