Long tem visas are unavailable now. Thai banks as of March 31, 2023 ordered to not accept any new foreign bank accounts without a Thai work visa or already existing long term visa. Also any paperwork mandated by Thai law from a US Embassy unobtainable. In 2 years daily no appointments available. Are either ignoringing citizens or selling appoinments under the table. Philippine has much better visa rules and an Embassy not ignoring its citizens.

Funny to me. So the bathroom windows are always open in to disperse smells. Well one time, when going to the restroom at 3am, I heard snoring. I found the neighbors bedroom window is close to my bathroom window. And of course most people have their bedroom open to sleep with a breeze. So learning moment for me on what noises I should suppress in the bathroom. Lol

Thanks for all the great advice that will certainly be useful for me during my transition to Thailand. One thing to consider when purchasing electronics to bring to Thailand is the warranty. You will need to service your item where purchased. Im waiting to purchase a I phone until I arrive for a local warranty.

Thanks for all the tips 🙂. One I would slightly disagree with, as an ex-IT guy: computer/phone backup to a portable physical drive. If it's a manual process, you won't do it well or often enough, and if it's a physical device, it can get lost or stolen (just like your phone or laptop can). Everyone should get their head around automatic online backup, to Google Drive, OneDrive, or the Apple equivalent. Even if you need to enlist an IT pro or friend to help you get it setup, it's worth it. And ensure that you save important stuff ONLY to the the folder structure that's backed up to your cloud service. That way your important data is safe and accessible even if your laptop gets fried or stolen. Also data synced from your laptop to the cloud can also be accessed via your phone, whenever you are out and about (without your laptop).

Great Videos!!! Would you please do a video on "Onward / Return Flights" for VISITORS who are staying 30 days or less. I understand that visitors cannot enter Thailand unless they can show that they have a "Onward / Return Flight" out of the country.

This is true you must have an onward ticket to enter yet I've been to Thailand over 10 times and never once been asked for my ticket. Once at Bangkok though while waiting in the immigration line an officer asked me for proof of where I was staying to which I told him I planed on finding a hotel once I got into the city. He told me I needed to state where I was staying to enter so I booked a hotel for 1 night while in the queue and in I went!

They do not check for return tickets but buy return ticket in your country as prices out of Thailand super expensive.

I've come up against the dual charge many times. Then I found out if I sent my Thai partner to buy the tickets she would get a price for 2 locals while I remained out of site. I expect sometime to get pulled up on this but so far haven't.

Is chian mai out of the question to live because of the burning season? We'd like to live somewhere there is mountains and some hiking, nice parks to walk. Also a good gym and restaurants. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks for the tips Tony, I would add if anyone want to buy computer keyboard, buy it in the US as the Thai version have both Thai scripts and English symbol on the same key. This was my experience when I wanted to buy a Logitech keyboard in one of the IT store in Bangkok but was told there isn’t one with just English only. Tony, are there any services in Chiangmai to buy things from the U.S. and have it ship there?

I've heard the same thing about Amazon delivery to Thailand but you have to pay shipping and it will take awhile for you to receive it....its not like you'll have an Amazon van pulling up in a few days 😄

@@TheNarrowGate Big bucks and with added customs charges tacked on. If whatever u have shipped to you totals 1500 baht your item can be flagged on arrival for taxes. They hold the item and notify you. So just watch your outgoing amount.

I used to watch youtubers from the pattaya region and they almost never got into a place at thai prices with a thai DL but that didn't shock me as thats a heavily dominated tourist area.

Actually prices for phones and electronics are very cheap here. Even for Apple besides HK one of the cheapest places buying Apple is Thailand. Same goes for Huawei, Xiaomi..

I am from Germany, here in Thailand prices for iphone 14 models are like 350-450 USD cheaper than in Europe. For US might be different, since Apple is cheaper there.
