Agent Orange was not produced in Bien Hoa but shipped in 55 gallon (leaky) drums on WWII Liberty ships offloaded at the Newport Deep Draft facility outside of Saigon on the Saigon River. I worked at DD#3 where many were offloaded. Probably all the Deep Draft berths (1 - 4) handled these. Drums were immediately loaded on blue RMK-BRJ trucks and shipped to the Bien Hoa airbase.

The airbase is still considered the most contaminated place in Vietnam

I hope you are not too invested in Tik Tok, i have being following congress hearing and i have a feeling they will ban tik tok or force them to sell the company to usa corporation, so usa companys can get piece of that advertisement pie. Tik Tok have about 150 million users in USA . I always wondered why only in USA most app come from now i understand, USA company's make sure to take out competition apps

Well, yes, that's part of it. I also think American intelligence services want a monopoly on spying. It's hilarious 😂 that they are all up in arms over privacy lol fucking NSA spies on us constantly, so does the FBI Edward Snowden showed us this in no uncertain terms. They are literally trying to kill a journalist for publishing war crimes (Assange), but somehow, it's the Chinese we need to be afraid of, lol 😆 😀 😜 I lived in China Xian and Qingdao. I have been in SEA a long time. China isn't great. It's a hyper police state ethno nationalist Xenophobic dictatorship. Terrible. No question, but these hypocrites in the US government are really amazing acting like they give a shit about your privacy, lol 😆 😂 🤣

I just did some quick research, and it looks like there is a major agent 🍊 remediation project taking place at the airbase. I'm going to do more research but it looks like it's only the airbase that's affected by AO.
@rebornabroad6 ай бұрын
I hope that's true, and I think if you do research and find that to be true, then it's probably ok. The girl I knew lived across their street from the air base. It was her views feom her balcony but still I think its a nice town. Pays generally ok. Not much to do but close to Saigon and cheaper

Thanks for the vid man. Been offered a position there but wanted to know whether you would personally recommend it? It seems quiet. How is the nightlife there, and do you think the toxicity is something that could make it a deal breaker? Appreciate any advice bro. Safe travels.

Nice place. Nice people. Huge amount of agent orange contamination. So if you dont mind being exposed to it or you trust the Vietnamese that it's not in the ground water.
@Mansplainer4528 ай бұрын
@rebornabroad I was hoping it wasn't a major issue🥺 Are there things to do there, man? Like recreational, nightlife etc.
@rebornabroad8 ай бұрын
Very small place man it's basically the Outskirts of Saigon, so if you're really hard up, you can be in Saigon in about an hour. Nice people, small center, very local it's a province, not a tier 1 city. Bad air quality and possibly toxic with agent orange, but it's not a terrible place. Dong Nai river is nice.

@rebornabroad Thanks for the response, bro. I've been struggling severely to get a post in Saigon, and I've got 5 years of teaching experience. I guess I have no choice at this point as my girlfriend wants me to be close to her.

@Mansplainer452 no worries, brother. I can easily get you work in Saigon, but I do charge for my service. If you end up in a pinch, you can reach me on the fb fan page.

Sure looks different than 1969! I got lucky and didn’t Get much exposure to AO….maybe? I was there a few times coming into Nam and leaving for R and R and home. Recently talked to an AF vet who got cancer from it but so far at age 80…I’m OK.

Crazy situation it definitely still effects some locals you often see them begging in HCMC. It's actually a very nice city the people are really nice. Most teachers I know make a good salary but won't eat any vegetables washed in the water.

First thing you need to do is learn how to pronounce Bien Hoa.

I can teach you how to pronounce teeth 😬 🪥

That makes about as much sense as the way you mispronounce Bien Hoa

Not at all. It's changed a lot since I was there. But it seems to me if you're going to provide "reviews" of a place, you should at least learn how to pronounce it correctly.
