the space between people was hilarious because its exactly how it is in sweden.

Sebbe Persson Here's the thing. I want to go to Sweden soon, but I'm not very shy most part of the time. I'd probably be ocasionally whistling while I'm walking, doing chins up, playing harmonic if I have to wait for a long time, staring at the horizon, talking to people, and laughing alone if I thought of something funny. Is that weird?

@KaiPonVisp8 жыл бұрын
+RadioactiveSand Come to Sweden, it's a nice place. It really is. Sure, Swedes in general do tend to keep to themselves and not help out other people unless they know them, but there's also those who are the complete opposite. :)

@RikkiTheRose10 жыл бұрын
The Nation Finland was built and created by Swedes from the iron age to the 1800s is it so mysterious that we are so alike?
@esterelina10 жыл бұрын
It has been over 200 years since Finland was under Swedish control. Nations can change a lot in 200 years, specially when they are part of the Russian empire. Yes, Swedes and Finns are alike, but there's also a lot of things that we are very different in.

sweden is also pretty much like japan, we both love working.
@NextAdventureJP8 жыл бұрын
Coming from a Swedish person who has lived many years in Japan. I think that Japanese people love working in the sense that the are active in their workplace for a long time, take much time on simple task, and often end up doing over-time. Still, I think it has more to do with pressure to perform well than loving to work. I feel Swedish are more laid-back. We like going to work. It makes us feel productive and needed, even though we might not be as productive while being there. We dont spend more time than necessary on tasks, and would never want to do over-time. I was actually often told as a kid that Swedish people only work for the vacation haha

You really hit the nail on the head! I love making people awkward by sitting or standing right next to them at the bus stops. You can almost smell their panic.

Them Ladies iz Gorgeous bro. might find some summer love....granted I come through in summer. lol. But also I'm just fascinated by the lifestyle. I'm from the Caribbean, Trinidad & Tobago to be specific, so the cultures are very different and it really draws my attention. The outdoors up there looks fun plus it looks like Sweden has a lot to offer in terms of peace of mind and body just through their lifestyle.To me it appears as though the Swedish culture and Japanese culture (among others) share that similarity of serenity, with slight differences in expression of course.

Ha ha ha! As an American, I can agree with your assessment on all accounts! Compared to others, we do have a tendency to be a bit brassy. Though the Swedes made you feel "very lonely" during your travels there, did you still like them as a people, overall? I've heard others describe them as "awkward" as well, which is not an offensive, but I've never heard anyone describe them as "aloof", which is altogether different. And thanks for your insight, it's greatly appreciated.
