How much would a ballin’ lifestyle like this cost in Colombia?
SHOCKINGLY cheap (at least compared to what it’d cost in the US).
We’re budget travelers at heart, but decided it’d be fun to see what it’d be like to live ONE day like millionaires in Colombia.
We’ll take you around to some fancy places, and give you a glimpse of how much a luxury Colombia cost of living would run you.
To be clear, this is the fancy cost of living in Cali Colombia. The cost of living in Bogota, for example, would certainly be more expensive.

Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼
We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it...we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼
Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻
Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life...all you need to do is make the choice!

I'm hopping you show other houses like that cheaper with like 3 bed rooms two bc the pers I'm trying to show it to likes it but she doesn't need that many rooms or bath rooms. But if you can find them in 100,000 to 300,000 range would be nice.

Thanks for the video, I've wondered about prices for a luxurious lifestyle in Colombia. I've done online research, but I know that's not the same. Having lived in Latin America for several years, local prices are vastly different than online prices. It seems most videos about cost of living are about how affordable it is to live there. As a high income American, it was nice to see from a new perspective.

Also, the blogging course I've been following that's been getting me some huge results is also having a ginormous sale: bit.ly/3cUWPW9 (affiliate link). If I were starting from scratch, that is 100% where I'd start to avoid wasting any time. I will definitely start brainstorming some blogging video ideas to my to-do list though 🤓. I am an American and really don't like my own kind. I plan on retiring in Colombia and will find a simple but safe lifestyle. I have seen the "maid" (PERSON, HUMAN!) eat the meal they cooked for the family alone in the kitchen while the family dines together in the dining room. I had to deal with that, but it still makes me feel unhappy. I woke up early one morning, made coffee, washed the dishes, and mopped the kitchen floor. Not once, several times. I am a rebel that dislikes classism. This maid lived in the South of Bogota and it took her 1.5 hours on "Transme" just to get to the condo. I bought her gifts and chocolates. Perhaps it is ok to employ someone to perform this work. But I would NEVER get used to it. And I would spoil them constantly by breaking social norms.
@ProjectUntethered
@ProjectUntethered Жыл бұрын
Yeah I definitely know what you mean. I always invite them to eat with as as well, and my wife’s family spoils quite a bit. That said - to play devils advocate - I suppose it depends on how you look it at. They are just working their job like anyone else in the working class - a barber, car washer, painters, chauffeurs, etc. I agree that it’s important to be appreciative, generous, and treat people like human beings. But in the end, you are an employer and are offering them the best job option they have available to them (otherwise they wouldn’t take the job!)

great video, but u missed 1 import one, raising a kid, in the USA you need like 25K per year (child care cost, public school, etc) in Colombia the maid can help u with the child care and u can also get a decent PRIVATE school for like 300 per month

Haha thanks and that’s a great idea!! That house is actually owned by a contact of ours and they don’t rent that one out specifically. yeah now I can see why the huge disparity in social classes in Colombia. I live in the Washington DC metro area and currently you can get a single family home (zip code 22151) 4 bedrooms/ 3 bath 1 car garage for about $680K which the average medium wage for a single person is about $120K, mostly (about 80%) of these home are own by dual income folks except for the older generation that bought many years ago. So all those things and considering I have a better quality of life by far would cost about $1.5 million average.

i'm pretty sure you have no idea what you're even saying. it's as if you're just talking about things you don't know or understand. comical but misinformed.

Source: lived in colombia 6 years, married to Colombian who has lived there her whole life, multiple contacts on the ground who regularly use the services mentioned. I’m sure there’s variance by region (and even within the same region), but definitely not wrong.

@@ProjectUntethered Well.. Source: living in Colombia (Cali) for 32 years, it does have variance by regieon but to be honest i can say than more than half of the numbers you mentioned in the video are higher than what they actually are.

Perhaps there is some variance in terms of quality as well because this is what our Colombian friends pay. I’m sure you can always find someone willing to do things cheaper, just like any service. Oftentimes you get what you pay for though. One time a body guard we had almost accidentally shot us when his gun fell out of his lap! 🤦‍♂️
