Hey welcome back everyone! This week we have so much fun celebrating a birthday with Brian from @svdelos where we help him celebrate by foil boarding across a whole atoll lagoon! Then we go on another crab hunt, this time for the much larger coconut crabs. We do our best to prepare and cook them as the locals have for so many years.

Can't agree more! KZbin must be Shadow Banning this channel I have seen some bad sailing channels and I'm shocked to see they have more subs! I just can't handle the fact that the Sub numbers are not increasing!

Synaptidae - WOW! Brand new to me. Would never have guessed sea cucumber. Looks sorta similar to a polychaete worm, an annelid. I always liked night dives for the same reasons. Thanks for those clips. Not many people do night dives. I love your vids!

One thing that's definitely changed from the old times of watching Delos was the only people Brian got to have fun with were pretty much on his boat. Now, the sailing community is much larger. I would think that Coconut Crabs in the very popular French Polynesian Islands would be threatened if they were gathered much by the sailing community because the sailing community is so large now. I'm curious, but in California we have a certain time of year where you can't eat shellfish, red tide thing apparently. Does that happen in French Polynesia with shell fish from the sea ? And, I suppose it wouldn't happen with land based Coconut crabs ?

Coming from Seattle, Brian should know the right way to boil crabs. 🦀 Here in the NW / Puget Sound we break the backs off, clean, then boil. The meat stays sweet, white and super clean. Boiling with the bellies, they are far too dirty with the innards intact. ;)
