Living off the grid in The Daintree: Not everyone is convinced of Fed Govt power plan

I live in the rainforest south of Cairns, I'm not on the grid, but I have solar and battery storage and it's ample to live off without power bills. The people in the Daintree are in the same situation as me, they should use the current technology and stop whinging.

Most of us are happy with our own power supply. Some businesses and a handful of residents are behind this power push.

$70K diesel pa?? That’s ridiculous! What are you running on your outdated power generator mate?! Sounds like you need to do yourself (and your neighbours, and the planet!) a favour and spend a tiny Fraction of that “$70K” to invest in a decent solar system and say hello to a healthier bank account.

From what I've seen in real estate up there is you don't need base power unless your running a commercial business,which is hardly anyone,solar and batteries have plenty of power
