Justus Walker spent time in Russia as a child and it changed his life forever. Now he is homesteading on his own land in the Siberian region of Altai.
He has A crew of local workers and an American wife and children all working together. Justus believes that food is the future of Russia which by his estimation can feed the whole world. He wants to change the perception of farming in Russia from grunt labor to big business.
Did Justus make the right call, would you do the same thing? Let us know in the comments.

My wife and I are looking at immigrating sometime in the future, once she gets her second hip replacement and a new kidney. Logistically seems like a nightmare to pursue a relocation while learning the language and needing her constant dialysis, but we yearn everyday to live a normal life in Russia. Somewhere East or North of Moscow. Love your videos!

A new subscriber here. I saw you on Joe's KZbin channel "EXPAT American" today for the first time. We are thinking of moving back to Russia in the next few years. My younger boy is autistic and my biggest worry about moving to Russia has been that he does not speak Russian but if all goes well with your project, he will feel like home in an American village. GOD BLESS YOU for this awesome idea, Tim! My older son, born and raised in the US, is finishing his computer science degree this year. Both of my boys are home educated with a Christian curriculum. I really want to give you a big hug for this great idea! I hope and pray all goes as planned. God is so good! I literally cried today after watching Joe's video. You have no idea how much this means to us. We will be praying about the American village project! I have Sveta's email (Joe's wife) so I will share my excitement with her. Many blessings to you!

@@TimKirbysTravel I really appreciate your reply, Tim! You did not disclose the exact location, so my husband and I looked up the village Podmoklovo on the map. If you are planning to build around that area, south of the river Oka, please know that you may not be able to have basements there due to flooding. Podmoklovo means "Getting wet" and the map clearly shows a dried up part of the river meaning that the water still accumulates in the spring time and when it rains in those areas. If you are not planning to build close to the river, south of it, or you had that area inspected for possible flooding, please let me know. Is there a way to connect with you via email? If you prefer, I can contact Sveta/Joe to see if they have your email. Thank you in advance!

As soon as Russia starts to live up to its potential it gets sanctions, wars etc. Russia was feeding world in 19-20 century and got wrecked for it. Everyone get jealous of Russia's resources and wants it for themselves. Russian population was reduced to 150mil in a past century. Russia had more was then any other country and most of these devastating wars were defensive wars. "Russians should be reduced to 15 million people serving wells and mines", "It is unfair that all of Siberia and its vast resources belong to Russia" and "Siberia is too big to be owned by one country." This is what some politicians of West say about Russia.

10:45 "Russia is governed directly by The God himself. There is no other way to imagine how this country is still in existence..." Burkhard Christoph Graf von Münnich a German national and fieldmarshal of the Russian Empire. Ofc there are better, more realistic explanations why Russia exists but it's fun to hear such comments from Justus). And civilization is not a "state of mind", it has a distinct meaning. The word itself stems from Latin "civis" which means "townsfolk". What divided civilized tribes from uncivilized ones is an ability to have enough surplus products to build sustainable cities - centers of crafts and trade. Only with cities any civilization can develop and propel itself forward. Our whole species success is undoubtedly based on collective effort and industry, science and culture is created in a big way only in cities. What Justus is talking about are amenities, not civilization.

@mikemikelson8767
@mikemikelson8767 Жыл бұрын
