Nice video! Wouldn't trade my cross country for it but nice bike. If it's like my cross bike the radio doesn't have a power button all you can do it volume down

Really, I have never ridden a XC, only a XR without a stereo. I am so used to having a power button on my Vision.

Good review. I'm taking delivery of my new Indian Chieftain this week. Now I have to learn to ride! :D

Your review is well done. I went from an '03 FLHRCI to the '14 Chieftain. It took me a few years to find the parts combo that fit me perfectly on the Harley. With the Indian, the motor got me when I walked in the door and the bike pretty much fit me perfectly from stock. Maybe it fits 5'8" to 6'1"?

I have a Chieftain. I did notice when I had the break-in oil changed that the performance of the bike was enhanced very noticeably.

And I have to say they really need that power windshield on the cross country. Other than the handling of the vision it's my favorite feature between the two

if you couldnt turn the radio on - it tells me that you should read the manual that comes with the bike. ThM - Norway.

His issue was turning the radio off, not on. This was a demo ride. You are not given time to read the owner's manual before taking them for a ride. You pick a bike you want to ride, and you join a group of other test riders and get going on a guided ride.

Only thing stopping me from a new Chieftain is the lack of color-matched lowers with vents and a trunk. If you're planning to give HD some competition, why wouldn't you go all the way? If I'm buying a big touring bike I want ALL the goodies, not half of them. Some of us guys like having that extra space for junk in the trunk and lowers are really nice in the rain and for those chilly days.

Thanks, glad you liked it! I use royalty free music from Getty Images. When I have used standard commercial music I have gotten flag for copyright violations, so I just stay away from it now.

I road the Chief Vintage and fell in love with it, but then again, I am 6'4", 260 pounds. The Vintage was perfect for me.

Craig I like your shades. What is the name of that model? Thanks.

Thanks, they are actually my everyday glasses with transition lenses. The frame is an Oakley Servo in Satin Steel.

I did notice that the Chieftain didn't have as much stretch room as my Victory XR, but after having it for a while the issue diminished as I got used to it. I still may upgrade to a Mustang seat though, as I like to tour. As far as comparing the bike, I would say that it compares more to the HD CVO Street Glide rather than the regular Street Glide. The Indian has more features than my friends CVO Street Glide.

I totally agree on the persons height, I just purchased a chieftain I'm 5ft 7" and I feel like the bike was custom made for me totally comfortable. To turn off the radio you just depress the volume control and hold it till it turns off, not a real big fan of that. As a whole I am totally stoked with the bike.

Thanks' to you I will try next week a "Chief Vintage" :) . I'm one of this lucky French with an INDIAN local store here in Montpellier, Can't wait ... ^^ ps: Sorry but English is not my native language ;)

How do you like it compared to the Street Glide?
@LivingOffTheSlab9 жыл бұрын
+Jacob James I think you will find the seating position very similar. The big difference is the 111 engine on the Indian. Much more torque and smoother. On the other hand the HD fit and finish is a bit better.

You keep saying "Heritage"….are you referring to a Harley?? There is no Indian model called "Heritage"…
@danshobbies137 жыл бұрын
Now that these new Polaris Indians have been out for 4 years, I hope by now you know it's called the Vintage not the Heritage.
