I love watching your travels. You definitely get your sense of adventure from your dad Kristin. It’s hard to believe the first and only time I have seen you was in 2015 at Sarah’s funeral. Watching these videos gives me some insight on who you are. I hope we get to meet again but on better circumstances than the last time. Safe travels!

I appreciate the candor and reflection. I've got a new boat coming in 2 years and have always defined myself by my work. Multiple people I've talked to who have taken off cruising for multiple years, said "you don't even know who you are until you are out cruising for 9-12 months, it takes that long". It's certainly a scary experiment, but I've come to terms with the fact it's unknowable until you do it, and a little faith that I'll figure something out if I need more intellectual stimulation or purpose.

Thank you for reminding us all about becoming citizens of the world. I have a photograph of dad, when he worked for the French Government in Tahiti, sitting on a beach on Bora Bora with a good friend of his who was full-blooded Tahitian. The first time I saw this photo, dad said, "Remember, you must always keep your eyes, ears and mind open; otherwise you miss the true beauty and importance in all of life, and you will never learn about the facts which are your real teachers." This photo will have pride of place, when my boat is finished and I set sail into the wonders known as the Earth. Thank you for everything which you do, for all that you share with us, and for showing us what real love is all about.

Following you, since the beginning of your sailing experience, has been like travel with you in all the amazing places you visited. But in this video you have outdone yourselves! Your words are inspiring. I confess that after watching the episode I went down to the text to read it two times. And you deserve to know my thought on at least two points of your “script”, the very beginning and the very end. Yes, you are true travelers and not just tourists!! And Yes, you are contributing enough by sharing your journey!! In the past 17 years my job brought me and my family in strange places, from Pakistan to India, from East Asia to Middle East. Experiencing great international communities, places and cultures that have enriched my life. Now I live the “lazy afternoons looking…. for an unpredictable and exciting future”, while enjoying your journey! Thank you guys! BRAVI

Giampaolo, thank you so much for following our journey and for your compliments. We truly appreciate your encouragement! It must have been fascinating to live in such a variety of cultures. We’ve been to SE Asia and the Middle East but just for brief trips. Now we realize there’s nothing quite like staying in a place for a bit.

Enjoyed that iconic scene of Kristin on the front of the boat holding on to the jib as the bow motioned through the water. I also resonated with the pictures of Fabio in the OR, though I work on the other side of the drape. I hope to follow in your footsteps after I retire.

Just terrific. One of your best videos ever. At the beginning I started wondering if I could get away with a snarky quip about Kristin watching too many Anthony Bourdain videos. Ah, of course, it's a quote! Well okay, then. But then she rolled right into the Kristin we already know. Brilliant move -- I might never have made that connection, two insightful philosopher - travelers in the great vein. And then Fabio joins in. Amazing. Three. A clear sign to more amazing videos to come. Of course I was a huge fan of Tony Bourdain -- like with you guys -- right from the start. I was already traveling the unbeaten path, looking for the margins - so Bourdain wasn't doing anything I wasn't already familiar with . Of course he was doing it better and in more places, so he made it insatiable. Don't ever wait. Go. Now.(That's how on my way to Pittsburgh I went through Canada, then the Bahamas, and a few National Parks before I got home.) Now I'm following your lead. It's not just KZbin, it's not just 'we went here...' it's sharing the passion. "We'd already eaten breakfast. Rookie move." There's your merch t-shirt.
@HarborsUnknown2 жыл бұрын
You are right Will, we have watched too many Bourdain videos but they never get old! Thanks so much for all the wonderful compliments and for your support!! Sounds like you’ve had quite the experiences yourself. Looking forward to when we can hear more about them!

Once again you share a brief insight into parts of the world which many of us are unlikely to be able to visit in this lifetime. 😃 Often we start a journey for one reason , but it’s other things that we discover on the journey that keep us going . Thanks for sharing 😃🥂🍻
@HarborsUnknown2 жыл бұрын
That’s a big reason why we’re creating the videos- to share the places we visit so other people can “experience” them. And yes the path is often very curvy from changing direction along the way. 😊 Thanks so much for watching!

Fabio, You are doing enough, which is good for us - those of us who are land locked to our lives. Keep on keeping on, as we say in Australia (it's an old saying). To help with your thoughts and pondering on your life's meaning going forward, here try this: Ecclesiastes: 3:12-13. “I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil-this is the gift of God.” and Proverbs 5:18. “May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.” I Hope this helps.

Hi Kristin and Fabio, Really great video! Your journey in this video is one of the most authentic ones I’ve seen on KZbin! I really enjoy and appreciate your dialogue and your willingness to open yourself up to your thoughts about your journey and purpose. As I formulate my sailing journey with the hope to have a boat in the near future your videos really help me think through my questions about doing what you are doing. Keep it up and thanks for sharing!!
