I love the storyline! There’s a mod for “realistic bills” because most things are too cheap, and you earn so much. Also, could use Simple Living lot trait so they have to buy or grow the food ingredients to cook. I’m really looking forward to this!! Maybe every time both leave the house, they either have to take the baby or hire the nanny so they don’t get free babysitting/daycare.

To get closer to sims 2, turn on the simple living lot trait and you can order groceries as needed over the phone. You don’t have to go all the way to Henford on Bagley. I find it ruins my immersion when my sims don’t live there, but I like having to plan for groceries like in Sims 2 and the grocery delivery person deffo makes me feel the nostalgia. I too loathe the cellphone being so imbeded into gameplay. Even in Sims 3 I hated it.

@@onza1317 Not if you wanna play lives that aren’t ‘modern’ or decades play. When the cellphone is an object (like sims 2) you can give it to your sims teens when you want to or never buy one at all and it only takes a decor changes to life simulate a different era. In Sims 2 cellphones got added later, but it was a purchasable functional object they aren’t essentially ‘born’ with it in game as a core function of the UI. And if I want to play the 1980s or 1960s or the middle ages or prehistoric times there isn’t this hurdle of major features of the game being built and darn near locked around and to the cellphone. Heck even if I wanna play a sims that lives off the land and has choosen no technology there are just core functions of the game that makes that difficult because they are locked to cellphone interactions.

@@onza1317 So am I, I am talking about why its the same problem in Sims 3 and 4 and how you could model the phone-as-object as it was in Sims 2 for better play as opposed to imbedding it in the UI. There have ALWAYS been players who don’t want to play current day to the game’s publishing, including during the Sims 3 and (current) sims 4 era and Sims being essentially “born” with Cellphones with imbedded gameplay functions in Sims 3 and 4 does NOT let me decide as a player if my character would even own one. Rather that’s a restriction imposed by decades play or me simply wanting to play a character who doesn’t or can’t use technology. Like my Sims parents litterally CAN’T take their kids phones from them! Or disallow their kid a phone til High School. When you get a phone is also a modern milestone One can’t play. There’s this lovely shipwrecked island in Sulani and you know what ruins playing shipwrecked? A sim pulling out a cellphone, and it WORKING! Not to mention the possible gameplay of a cellphone you have to buy and starting with a cheap one and having to work your way to affording a “nice” one being lost by it not being an in-game object. So even in modern times, phone as object instead of UI has a bunch of story possibilities.

@@TheDawnofVanlife because the time the poperties the games released sims 2 was released during a time where smart phones weren't so imbedded in our lives also sims 3 has the newspaper or computer option you don't need the smart phone the phone is a blackberry unless you have university installed sims 4 is the only game where the smartphone is exstreamley used because of the time it came out and since highschool years its more prevalent, also not every plays off the grid or decades playstyle so it not a very big deal you can ignore the phone and silence the phone and not use it.

I honestly can’t play without the simple living trait anymore; it makes things more interesting. I was doing a no loading screens rags to riches kind of challenge, and my poor sim ate nothing but foraged raspberries her first week!😅
