Your tips are great for the environment too! When I taught H.S. chemistry, we had a couple of labs on "making your own products". The students could develop their own with a standard starting chemicals and they had to demonstrate that they worked. A couple of favs: 3%hydrogen peroxide, available at any drug store, Walmart, etc can be used to periodically sanitize toothbrushes and a little poured on you toothbrush with a dab of toothpaste is a teeth whitener. Whitening strips cost $20 per box, the "cheap method costs about $0.02 per use. (rinse your mouth with water after). It is also good to disinfect cuts and wounds. Another winner, isopropyl alcohol 70% or 91% available at the same places, is a superior degreaser used for oily stains on walls, etc.

I have been using fabric softener as Febrese for about a year and I have noticed a coating of stuck on dirt and dust mixed with fabric softener on everything my carpet, couch, curtains and it acts like a magnet, Some things are not worth faking, Dish soap I only use Dawn because it's concentrated and has many uses and lasts longer than anything else I have tried .. Thank you for your experience and knowledge it dose help

Dawn dish soap is my favorite all-purpose cleaner. It's phenomenal on glass (my mirrors have never been cleaner) and cuts through grease and grime better than any other cleaner. My stove actually shines now! I've also used it on my kitchen/bathroom floors, as well as hand soap when I'm too lazy/cheap to get hand soap. I'm using up the cleaners I still have, but after that I'm sticking to mostly Dawn. I've heard mixed results about using it in the toilet, but I don't mind splurging on some toilet bowl cleaner. :)

I can make a bottle of Mrs Meyers Cleanday 32 oz concentrate last me a whole year. its $13 online were I get it . I put 2 capfuls in a 32 oz spray bottle mixed with water and shake that. I use it on my dinning room chairs , counters, floors, toilet, mirrors, sinks and tub. I use baking soda for tough grime on the tub and sinks .50c/ box =$1 /month. I use reusable cleaning cloths . I use peroxide for disinfectant $1 at the dollar store in a spray bottle because its non toxic and kills 99% of germs compared to vinegar which is only 70% effective . The dish detergent I use last me 2 months altogether I spend only $85 on cleaning supplies yearly . you dont need body spray of fabreeze to have your home and body to smell good .

I make a spray with dishwashing soap for dishes. I put in about an inch of dishwashing soap and then the rest is water. We squirt dishes. Also a tip if you have kids and you use the pump soap bottles to wash hands is to put a bunch of rubber bands wrapped around the base of the pump. It restricts everyone to half a pump. A half a pump is enough soap. I refill my pump soap bottles with a little bit of soap and mostly water. It still foams.

Thank you so much!!!! I never would’ve believed this would work and IT DOES! It’s honestly better, I truly feel like I’m cleaning better than slapping on the highly concentrated chemicals. Im in the process of moving and was making my own cleaner with Dawn in a spray bottle with water and was going to add other chemicals (my friends showed up a range of cleaning products and I didn’t have to so I tested this out by using the watered down Dawn in a spray bottle to spray a few sprays in the sick when I was doing dishes. It worked amazingly! And I honestly had hardly any Dawn in the dishwater and it cleaned very well and just as many bubbles as I would get using way over the recommended amount of straight Dawn before! You’ve got a new excited subscriber! Definitely gonna take advantage of all your other tips and tricks!

I leave vinegar [ white ] and bicarbonate of soda overnight in the loo, about once a week or so, it leaves the toilet pan sparkling clean. Sometimes you have to repeat this 2 - 3 times, if its got limescale build up.If I go away for a couple of nights, I also do this.

I pretty much use vinegar to clean everything (even in place of fabreze (it dries scentless and helps remove the smell instead of just covering it up) and it's a great to clean windows); I add baking soda if it needs to be scrubbed, and a tiny bit of dish soap in the spray bottle with the vinegar if it needs a little extra ump (like in the shower). Vinegar is the best. I use a spray bottle with water and a few drops of vanilla extract for a cookie scented body spray; I think I saw that same episode because that's where I got the idea haha. (Doesn't adding water to milk or orange juice make it taste...well, watered down and kinda gross?)

I don't perceive of a need for items like Febreze. For bathroom odors, strike a match (seriously), use ventillation (exhaust fan or open window). Potpourri is also good-add additional essential oils to refreshen. Agree-vinegar and baking soda are my main cleaners (make citrus vinegar come Winter with saved peels). I also use about 1 qt of Dr Bronner's a year to mix up an all purpose cleaner.

Vinegar is not recommended for use on aluminum, cast iron, waxed wood, or natural stone - for it to disinfect a surface it needs to be there for at least 20-30 mins on average. It is great where applicable as a cleaner.

Vinegar does NOT disinfect like bleach nor ammonia nor alcohol. Vinegar doesn't kill viruses like the flu or bad bacteria. Using bleach or ammonia or alcohol will kill the bad bugs for really cheap. Very small amounts of water to bleach or ammonia ratios will last you a very long time. They are funky but if you dilute them to directions and only use them when you really need to disinfect then you won't have to smell them too much.

I am a single senior citizen, I just paid off my house I built 13 years ago .. it now needs to be painted inside and out and OMG I didn't realize paint has gone up in price so much .. please give me some suggestions how to paint cheap...Love your channel
@PrepperPrincess8 жыл бұрын
Itazuke Sure. For the outside, buy your paint in 5 gallon buckets, NOT one gallon. This is the cheapest option, and the might have oops paint, which is paint that people return when they don't like the color. What the store won't tell you is that you can have the paint matched to whatever color you want. You don't have to stick with the oops color if you don't like it. I would buy the paint, and paint the house yourself. I painted my own house two years ago for about $600 in paint, saved about $1k by doing myself and not hiring someone else. Same goes for the inside. If you are doing all the same color, buy in 5 gallon buckets and look for oops paint you can work with. I never used a primer in my life and never had an issue. In my opinion primer is just an unnecessary expense although others might disagree. Again, I have never had a problem going without primer, but I can't verify for others. Hope that helps.
@1946pepper8 жыл бұрын
thanks for the information.. no luck though for the inside one gallon buckets only >>>>
