Ham sandwiches with mustard, two, and the I W Harper bourbon paired to it. That is a rocket-fueled lunch. Another great discussion gentlemen, that goes deep into the lifestyle trappings and gets to the core of actually enjoying these moments. My daily rituals for years have been working out, brewing coffee, picking the day's clothes, shining yesterday's shoes to put away, make brunch, read-research-post, enjoy every moment of the drive, enjoy the activity of the day, make dinner, and perhaps prepare a cocktail. This video brought my attention to what I have actually been doing and will make me expand those moments and enjoy them even more.

Those are lovely rituals, Michael.

Great video as always, love when you two get to discussing. Something I really enjoy about the Bond fantasy and using it in my life ever since I first read the books as a teenager way back in the late 90s is that, he is a regular man who always manages to get the job done. He has many flaws and does not always "get the girl" or look the coolest, he isn't always winning, he struggles with emotion, mediocracy in his job, and a rough personal life from time to time just like anyone does, but he still gets the job done and does not lose sight of his goal, to me that is something really to look up to, and much more of a hero characteristic in real life than a superhero type of narrative. Thanks for the work you guys put in to entertain us Bond fans.

Great video - totally agree with you and David’s take on Bond and his lifestyle, and how it’s a useful lens for us to create structure and meaning for ourselves 😊

Interesting discussion there guys. What i take from it is that to me its all about self discipline and balance...which is a constant battle.🍸

Very nice discussion! I find that taking time (not all the time, but sometimes) to be particular about something I'm enjoying is sort of how I connect with the Bond lifestyle/fantasy (more than favoring a specific brand, or things like that).

Cheers, my friend. It an approach we can all embrace.

The way I incorporate the Bond lifestyle into my daily activities is in the way I carry myself, in my posture (standing upright correctly, and admittedly it's still a struggle, hehe) and definitely in my walking. True stuff: Occasionally, I lowkey try to adopt the casual "panther" walk Connery does in the films, whenever I take a stroll. If I'm in a bit of a hurry, I mimic the determined fast walk Dalton does; sometimes those arms sway, lol. Tried imitating the stiff, good-posture walks done by Moore and Brosnan, but I can't pull them off at all, haha. But if I go out to some social gathering, you might find me doing the hip, modern Craig "strut." Yep, gotta fit these moves in every once on a while 😉😃 Great discussion, very interesting and inciteful 👍🏾👍🏾

Now *that* is a creative way to go about bringing Bond into your daily life!

Not what I expected when you said "The Bond Fantasy" but infinitely more relevant to most peoples lives. I always appreciate your intelligent take of all things James Bond and the smart conversations like this one that they inspire. I too have a coffee ritual, as I am on a quest to perfect my espresso making skills. I take the espresso out on the deck every morning and face the rising sun to set my circadian rhythm and evaluate my espresso that day.

That's the way to do it!

I also have that coffee moment in the morning. Just the making of it, the smell, the proportion of the ingredients to achieve my desired flavor, its a ritual. Bond is also a from scratch person, not pre-made. That's how the best meals are done.

I agree!

James Bond would concur, based no less, on the Fleming short story “007 in New York” where Bond imparts the ONLY way to prepare scrambled eggs.

To me, Bond is not set in the the past, in a galaxy far far away, in another world or in a land before time. Its the real world we live in today and its knowing that the real world can be beatiful, exotic, dangerous and surprising both with landscapes, human/ culture behaviour and creation and destruction!!! Man does Bond have a great life :) 15:32 good question !!

Bond from the beginning As a boy in grade school, I read the Fleming books. Then at age 10 started going to the movies beginning with Dr No. Initially, Bond movies were not a family affair that boys shared with their fathers. In fact my parents and most parents among my friends didn’t want us young boys to go to them because the movies were too violent and sex filled for the time. We snuck out to the movies and saw them without our parents knowing. In later years, I did go to some Roger Moore Bond films with my father and he wasn’t impressed. On a separate note, yet vitally important, is the disrespect and disregard Daniel Craig did in insisting that Bond die with him. This goes against all that Bond was and the whole Bond cannon. He crapped on a sixty year legacy because of his own ego and hubris after playing a Bond character that wasn’t in keeping with the Bond character.

Your collection is awesome David, but it just looks too much expensive for me to afford and the one thing in your collection that I would love to have is Timothy Dalton’s watch that he wore in the living, daylights and license to kill but I looked up the price for that watch, and it’s just too much out of my price range but it looks like that you have a really good collection and you really like it but all my collection of my Star Wars memorabilia that I have collected over the years is nothing compared to that watch that I would like to have to put on my wrist and I am woman but how do you live a lifestyle if it’s not in your price range
