Guess what.. a lot of priests still need to get straight too. I was unfortunately subjected to a priest who was acting out. Sometimes I want to scream, because the diocese did not believe me. Other women were subjected too. I ended up having to defend myself. I was literally thrown out of church. God help us.

110% my dude. I think there’s a harsh reality that a lot of men struggle with homosexual urges in our modern world, largely in part to it’s normalization and the proliferation of porn and over-sexualization of everything. I, for one, have struggled with pornography since I was 9/10, and a couple years back, unfortunately opened the door to trans porn when I was in a really low spot. It’s really forced me to confront my demons, so to speak, and get honest with myself about who I am, what I’m truly struggling with, and who I want to be in service of God and His holy Kingdom. The more men are open and honest about their struggles with these sorts of things, the more men can heal and move past it by the grace of God alone.

If you wanna break that cycle, you gotta have some accountability and it can't just be in the confessional. Talk with a trusted friend whenever you act out and learn what triggers you. Hope you find peace soon.

Never, never give up hope! It took me 20 years of prayer, going to confession, and falling back into porn, over and over, before God acted, and in a big way. God is good, and He acts on His own timeline...as frustrating for us as that often is. (But yes, I'd highly suggest an accountability partner. I tried to find one, but I oddly feel like God said "no" to my efforts to do so for some reason.)

If you're a gay Christian you will face rejection from both groups. It's basically the ultimate outsider status and is incredibly tiring and usually feels hopeless. The church needs more direct support for gays who decide to be celibate. Really, more than anything we need deep friendships with straight men. It sounds kind of trite if you're not living through this personal hell
@ARM1NIUS Жыл бұрын
I've known your type, and you're not interested in deep friendships with straight men. You seek to convert them over to your sin, because deep down you relish in your corruption.

No such thing as ‘gay Christian’s’. There are Christian’s who battle with same sex attraction. Being gay and having same sex attraction is very different and the church is clear on this.

It is like living in constant pain. When you see other guys easily fall in love and marry a woman, while you can't even feel anything. It is like having an illness with no cure, but you are constantly looking for an experimental medication with the hope that it can miraculously cure you. It is like drinking a poison that slowly destroys you from the inside, but you can't tell anyone about it. And for me, during my lowest time, it is like dying is better than living with SSA. I did not want this at all. Marco is like a hint for the "cure" that we are all looking for. I prayed that Jesus would keep strengthening us during our trial. God bless you..

As a Catholic with SSA, I can confirm that it is like living hell. I would trade my life just to live normally like any other guys. To love a woman and build a family centered in Jesus.

50% marriages end in divorce. 95% of catholic couples are contracepting. If you’re celibate, you’re doing better than most married! Keep the faith! I’m married with seven kids so far. Marriage is hard when you’re constantly pregnant constantly raising kids. Driving them to and from catholic school etc. my mom & dad did it with their 12. Most people opt for an easier life with fewer kids. They say no to physical mortification. They say “my pregnancies are too hard so father gave me permission for my husband to get a vasectomy”… these couples are sterile and nearly gay. Don’t be fooled by the majority of happy easy going families. They’ll answer to God! Keep the faith.

The devil is so clever in the manner he promotes homosexuality: we need to be inclusive; it's true love - an illusion, rather a deception. A big lie from the devil. No good can come out of something that is void of God's blessing. But sadly the world today is listening to the voice of the devil, rather than to listen to the Voice of Jesus, Who is the Way. The Truth and the Life. If we truly, truly love Jesus, then we should hate all that which will lead us to perdition. God is merciful and ever ready to forgive. The question to ask oneself: is my love for Jesus greater than my love for sin, in whichever manner it is committed? The Good Lord is there (always) to help us along the way. Remember, true love hurts; truly hurts!
@andrewmatocha699 Жыл бұрын
I think homosexuality is now the biggest sin that people look right past. They’re not hurting anyone else? What’s wrong with letting them just express their feelings? I believe the rise of homosexuality and feminism could very well lead to the downfall of America. Possibly Germany and other places as well. Thank you for saying this, it gives me hope that there are more people out there that still believe the true teachings of the Church.

@@harrydonahue1657 Harry, of course Jesus didn't say anything about gays; but St Paul did. Harry, men with same-sex attraction did go to Jesus in private, and Jesus' heart would have gone out to them - He loves them no more than He loves any other sinner. I know in my heart that Jesus would have explained the reason for their condition - the devil using his guile to deceive Eve. And as a consequence of man's fall from God's favour, sin entered into the world and distorted God's perfect creation. All the evil in our world today is a consequence of our fallen nature. Jesus, if they so desired to be healed of her affliction, would have healed them. And as he said to the woman who was about to be stoned: go and sin no more. Jesus came into the world to free us from bondage to satan. You are prisoners no more, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name and you are Mine. Jesus' love for us is such that He will go to any length to help us, if we so desire His help. He will not interfere with our free will to choose. I bless you in His love.

We need to stop calling people “gay men” etc. Your sin is not your permanent label. He’s a man who committed and is tempted by homosexuality. There is healing and freedom from sin through Jesus. Don’t label this poor soul as “gay man.”

Catholic confession was "so good" to confess sin, be forgiven by a priest, say 10 Hail Marys and 5 Our Fathers, go into the next week and sin again, only to be followed by confession so you could receive communion receiving "Jesus", only to lose Him in the next week of sin. Just believe and receive Him forever, John 1.12, 3.16, 3.36, Romans 10.9-10, 13: let Jesus find you, and get the scriptural truth of eternal salvation and life.

As someone with SSA, I have to ask…is the church against the sex acts themselves or even against romantic love as well? Everybody says same sex romantic love is also wrong because it will always leads to sex. But if there’s two people that can do romance without sex, then how can that be wrong?

@Anthny1 Жыл бұрын
Both.
@Maria_J_ Жыл бұрын
Romantic love is ordered towards the marital act; if you won't be having sex, you shouldn't be romantically involved at all-- this is true in relationships between men and women too. If a guy and girl are not getting married, they should not be romantically involved.
@Concetta20 Жыл бұрын
The Vatican is blessing same-sex couples now. So I guess it’s not a problem anymore.
@catherine18869 ай бұрын
Right. I’m not romantically involved with more than one man, for example. I’m chaste in that I’m involved only with my husband. No need for friendships with men in general. I have friends who are women, and I speak to men if they are my husband’s friends, if they are my family, if they are husbands of friends, but not in a close and intimate way or even in a best friend kinda way.

Bro listening to this I just don’t understand how he thought it was okay to stay in seminary? Shame on the priests he confessed to for not recommending he leave. Shame. I hear this and think.... If priests were able to marry, we'd have more heterosexual priests and this issue in the seminary wouldn't be an issue.
@RosieJ7223 Жыл бұрын
What? How does sex with a woman “cure” a man from fantasies about sex with a man? That’s illogical. If you’re same-sex attracted, simply having sex with the “opposite” one isn’t going to fix that. Do you mean that we would have more men called to the vocation of the priesthood? I think that’s a big risk based on little information. We’d have better luck making women priests. We have little problem giving up sex. But we shouldn’t change God’s doctrine/ plan based on our ability. If everyone committed murder tonight, should the Pope make a statement tomorrow that says “well since everybody is doing it….🤷♂️”

If you read scripture, you will conclude that celibacy is required and that it would not be demanded if it was impossible. It's like fasting.
