I love Koh Samed, been many times. The main problem I have whenever I do go is that I always end up extending my stay, lol.

Been to Koh Samet 3 times and absolutely loved the place. Stayed for 9 days once on silver sands beach. One thing that I don't like about the place is the mosquitos. But apart from that it is paradise it's a fine blend of mellow and nightlife. Walking along Silver sands at night with the little bars lit up is up there with any island in Thailand. The first time I went you used to be able to rent golf carts to drive around the island. They've stopped that now. Shame really as it was great fun.

Totally agree about the mosquitos haha. You get used to it though! Golf carts? Wow i never knew that haha. When was last time u were here?

@@RyanLeeTVThailand the golf carts where on the road in 2016 and were 800b for 24 hours rental. Great fun they was. I'm not sure why they banned them but when I went back in 2018 they were no more.

Koh Samet is lovely. One of my favourite islands which doesn't get that much attention is Koh Phayam....no cars on the island, very relaxing there too, and perfect for visa runs to Myanmar.

@@RyanLeeTVThailand. Probably fly from Don Muang to Ranong. £30. Then taxi to port (20-30km). Then ferry/speed boat to koh phayam. Cant remember the costs. Depending on last boat sailing times......may need to stay at Ranong 1 night. If you do go......there are plenty of bungalow options on the beach. Most people stay at either long beach or Buffalo Bay. I stay at a place called June Horizon in buffalo Bay.......only if they have their best bungalows available facing the beach......quiet spot. You will probably need transport (either mountain bike or scooter). Options are available. The last time I went 2 years ago......no cars on the island as it was concrete paths mostly which weren't wide.....although they were expanding one of the main routes on the island.....I hope they haven't ruined it. Anyway enjoy the travels....only found your channel a couple of days ago and its another great channel.

The other thing I forgot to mention is that ranong is only 3 hours from koh sok national park, and koh lak (for travel to samilian islands) Both are equally stunning.

Nice video Ryan, i stayed at a place called Naga Bungalows on the west side about 15 years ago. Run down Wooden huts with a boxing ring down by the bar. Is this place still knocking about? Cheers

@@RyanLeeTVThailand It was pretty run down so wouldnt ve suprised if its a fancy resort now. Only 200B per night. The last there in 2017, i visited koh jum- so quiet & peaceful there- its down by Koh lanta/phi phi.

Checking video's about Koh Samet and bumped into yours. In 2 months I'll travel to Thailand for 3 months. My daughter will join me the first 2 weeks and goes back to NL. We go to Bkk to visit a thai friend, than to Khao Sok and than 6 nights Koh Samet after which I bring my daughter to the airport. I am heading north to meet another friend. This will be my 4th time, I am in love with the country, people and culture. I will see if you have more video's. I akmost finished Paddy Doyles video's, so now I need another 'victim'🤭 kapkun ka!

Koh Mak is good but not much for night life and extravagance .But a beautiful place. I stayed at the Sabadee ,a beach front guest house owned bt a French Woman, Sandy. Looking forward to returning.

Koh Samed is a good place for a few days but can get crowded at the weekend. It's too small to actually live there but there are some gorgeous beaches. Koh Chang would be my first choice and then Koh Lanta....but each to their own. I'm actually going to Thailand on December 13th

In normal times I agree the weekend is a bit busy. The last year as been nice though...not good for business but great for staying.
