We’ve considered moving. On two professional jobs we can’t afford a safe home to raise kids in. I don’t feel like that’s a very bar….

The cost of living in Canada is insane! 🤯 Thank you Trudeau! 👍🏼

27 if you live in a van.
@bhemius13 сағат бұрын
$27 per hour full time is 56K a year. No chance that is livable in Van.

It’s still poverty level, you can’t actually raise a family in a safe and healthy home.

The BC Basic Personal Amount (the amount of income you need to earn before being subject to the provincial portion of income taxes) should be at least double or triple what it currently is.

5 years ago when I was a first year apprentice as a Heavy-duty Mechanic, they paid me $25.50 and now I make $48.. and it's still ain't enough 😅 then again "BC" stands for Bring Cash 😂
@jaschan200613 сағат бұрын
A lot of people are not making that. If you make $27 the minimum wage then those making $35 need to be making $45 or so then
@shauncameron839012 сағат бұрын
But there are also a lot of people making well above that.
@Traveling-c8n11 сағат бұрын
It’s called inflation, everybodies wages have to go up to match it.
@MV-gb8mpСағат бұрын
Add another $13 to that at the minimum....Who ever did that "report" is smoking some bad stuff lol

Do like they did in New York City in the 1980s, Government Owned Housing - with geared-to-income so those earning 20-30 an hour will only pay about $800 for a 2 bedroom apartment, get the Gov't into the housing business, it works
@berrex51525 сағат бұрын
You need atLEAST $40

Everyone’s wage will need to go up around the same increment or say goodbye to essential workers like doctors The better solution is smaller raises and lower the cost of things
@hardatak13 сағат бұрын
No. Bc needs to reduce its taxes
@Jayjay-ji7ty12 сағат бұрын
All you people don't get it as your wage increases so does everyone else's wages so milk eggs gas it all rises instead of you getting a trade or a real job! Tim hortons workers shouldn't make anymore than 12$ an hr!!
@Traveling-c8n11 сағат бұрын
Raise wages is the same as lowering costs. Except we have no way to lower costs. 2% inflation is baked in, that means prices are always going up. Wages have no choice but to keep up.
