I've been trying to "so less, do it well" for the past few years as she mentioned at the 27 minute mark. And it's sooooo not the norm in our society as everyone seems to be doing way too much and exhausted because of it.

You’re so right, it doesn’t feel like the norm. But I really think it’s important that we get clear on what is a reasonable, healthy amount of “things” to take on - whether it’s work or stuff - and just do less but do it well!

I love being a minimalist. It is a great lifestyle. I live with my son and his family and they want me to help them downsize.

That's wonderful! We love helping people in any way to embrace a lifestyle of simplicity.

for me having less is easy except in my business but getting rid of stuff is hard for my family @@composedliving

I just came across this video and it's exactly what I needed to hear around the holidays! I'm at the point in my life where I think I "need" to update my kitchen in order to sell my house. I can afford to remodel, but I still love my kitchen the way it is. I know that old countertops and cabinets will end up in a landfill somewhere. This really bothers me. It seems to me that minimalists always have white walls. Do you decorate with color?

Hi there! We also tend to design with mostly white walls, but only because it is simple, and pairs nicely with all decor styles. There are options for repurposing your kitchen if you choose to renovate - when we did our kitchen, we actually sold the entire old kitchen on Facebook Marketplace! Somebody bought the countertops and all the cabinets, so I had my contractor make sure he took everything apart carefully rather than demolishing. And then we donated our still working appliances to Habitat for Humanity!
