I’ve been daily driving my 2023 M2 (6 speed) for over 3 month now, with 4600 miles so far, and I can honestly say that the experience has been nothing short of amazing. It’s very practical, comfortable, easy to drive, not too big or small, sporty, and most importantly the fun factor is top notch. Couldn’t do everything with a 2 seater ( e.g. cayman, Supra, 400z), and wouldn’t be as sporty in a bigger 4 door sports car ( e.g. M3, etc..). Great video btw!

Thanks for the video, I'm getting ready to buy a new M2. I've had various BMW models over the past 40 years or so and can comment on whether to keep them over 5 years. They are hit or miss, and generally the first production year of a new redesign has the most problems...but that's not always true. If its a miss though, you'll know it usually within the warranty period, and if its presenting problems then get rid of it when warranty expires. If its hit, hang on to it. My current one is a 2015 435, having bought it on late 2014 so its 9 years old now and have had no problems with it, just your routine maintenance, oil changes, filters, etc, in fact its still got its original brakes....so this one has been a keeper.

I'm really digging the M2! Trying to decide what to get when it comes time to trade in my 21 1320 (if I do). Right now I'm considering another stang (had 3 in the past), a 25 Charger six pack, i240 x drive or M2. The 240 would probably be the wisest choice for a daily in NW Ohio, but Ive gotten by for years with rwd cars as long as I switch to better tires in the winter (usually get another set of wheels and tires). Think I'll wait until at least next year and hope int rates come down. But also heard the 26 M2 may offer awd which would be awesome, but may be too much if they raise the price again. As it is 60k is about the max I would want to spend and that is assuming I would get decent equity on my trade.

Love this new "Living with" series, George. Perhaps this will allow you to revisit some of previous models that have been featured on the channel. For starters, may I formally request a re-review of the C8 Z51 Corvette and/or any Porsche 911 and Cayman GTS 4.0? Please and thank you. (My wife also wanted me to add the Porsche Macan S and/or GTS as well. She says, _"Thank you hun!"_ )* FWIW, the new 2024 C8's come standard with several options that should have otherwise been included in previous model years. Plus, as you already mentioned in this video, the C8 Corvette is another great option versus the BMW M2 and my preferred choice. Nevertheless, I appreciate this real world approach towards ownership of these vehicles. I understand this can be a difficult process to convey to the viewers but I think you nailed it. Side note - I _love_ hearing my state being mentioned in a positive manner for once. Stay classy my friend. *EDITED for wife's request.

Great vid! I have a small BMW X car that's had zero issues in 1st 2 years of ownership. Before that we had a 2011 X5 35d in the stable, it was very reliable. We have a Ford product, an Audi product, & a Toyota product in the stable currently along with the X BMW. The BMW has been flawless & nothing else has been flawless (issues wise), including the Toyota. Never thought I'd like or respect anything BMW but the last 5-7 years has throughly changed my mind. Biggest 'issue' I have with owning a BMW is the dealerships I have to frequent are HORRIBLE for a lux car experience. They're all like Grand Central Station, never have a loaner available......you feel same as going to Ford, Toyota etc dealerships, which is like a piece of cattle. BMW needs to fix that b/c I may not buy another BMW due to the non-lux-car customer treatment their dealership experiences yield. In regard to wear parts (brake pads, rotors etc), I have zero problem buying / using aftermarket stuff. Often times I'm buying the OEM stuff, just not in an OEM labeled package.

One of my neighbors owns a 2023 M8 and recently lamented his experience at the local BMW dealership. [Mind you, this is not a disparaging remark. Rather a factual observation with no malice whatsoever. Thank you for understanding.] First of all, he was thoroughly surprised to see just how many East Indians that own BMW's. It seems to be their favorite German automaker. I would have thought they would prefer Land Rover or Jaguar since they are owned by Tata Motors but I digress. He even said it looked like a train station in New Delhi (speaking of Grand Central Station). What was even more shocking was their attitude towards the dealership employees and even other customers. That is to say they acted immature, disrespectful and extremely entitled. Which is not indicative of the Indian's that live in our neighborhood for the most part. It just so happens that he was a former Ranch owner in Montana and he even made a similar comment regarding "cattle". However, I will refrain from using his colorful vernacular. I mention all of this because it seems to fall in-line with your dealership experience as well. Such a shame too. Feels like the BMW we all knew and loved has been rendered obsolete for the foreseeable future. Truly a bummer. Stay classy my friend.

@BertShackleford I have no axe to grind with BMW pe se, but am an observant individual & do/have owned other brands of lux cars. I absolutely LOVE their (BMW) products nowadays. I LOVE the fact they, unlike Merc & Audi, offer a military discount. I LOVE the dynamic & way the BMW CCA is run compared to say, the Audi Club NA. But... The dealership sales & service experience I always get is flat-out sub-par. Part of spending the $s owning a lux vehicle is having that special feeling of valued treatment when you deal with the dealerships. Audi where I live advertises on TV they not only have a fleet of 100+ loaner cars available but they will deliver the loaner to you & take you car in for service. I can't even get a loaner from BMW to save my life, routine maintenance, even with an appointment, takes 2 or 3x longer than it should & what's promised, & like mentioned above, the dealership's I have to pick from are insanely busy/hectic. Happy German car motoring!

Regarding BMW reliability: we have a 2011 335i coupe (manual of course) that we bought in '14 when it had 30k miles, and has 55k miles today. In this car's life, it's had 4 HPFP's, rear shocks, VANOS bolts, blower resistor block + wiring, infamous Takata airbag replaced (all under recall/warranty), plus electric water pump + thermostat (which required a tow), windshield washer pump, and oil filter housing (OFH) seals replaced. Definitely MUCH needier than my '03 Silverado. I guess it's all about how you interpret "reliability"...

You hit it right.... maintenance. I have found most who have complained about BMW reliability comes from those who have bought 2nd or 3rd or more ownership vehicles. I sold mine after a month. Hard as I tried to love it, the car is utterly pointless as a manual in a city with traffic, as all manual cars are. Glad you tested the auto Im sure it's way better to daily. Even still, the insane amount of brake dust and squeaking is embarrassing in 2023. The brakes are fantastically capable but my god the dust and noise...

No self-respecting M owner would even consider a sunroof over the cf, and Costco gas ?? My M5 has only seen Shell 93 during its 5 year trouble-free lifespan. And by the way, Bmw has more highly rated reliability over the past 4 years than either Mercedes or Audi.

Sunroof are horrible IMO I'd delete it if ordering one. Absolutely nothing wrong with Costco gas, it's top-tier. I no-joke see people with up to modern Ferrari's at the Costco. You're never going to find fresher fuel than at a Costco station. Now, I wouldn't put 87 octane in my BMW but I'm guessing that was a mistake on Motoman's account. Agree on current BMW reliability, been my experience as well. Happy motoring!

Costco has high quality gas. Shell is terrible in my experience. I will only run Costco, Exxon, BP, or if desperate QuickTrip

Excellent video, I really like this "Living with" series, it gives an idea in how things really cost but also the pros and cons of owning a car like this. I also love the scenery in this video, South Florida looks really good, I also love the hills/canyons around LA, and the M2 seems at home especially with thar color. I would probably go for the auto and comfy seats with the carbon roof. But for the color I would choose Brooklyn Grey with Cognac interior. Awesome video MotoMan, as said by @benbustama3430 this is the best M2 review video out there.

Really enjoyed the experience with this car down there. Yes, the roads leave something to be desired but was an ideal test location for being practical.

It's funny how everyone freaks over the Climate buttons. I can say after driving nothing but BMW's since 2012 that once I find the sweet spot on the Auto Climate control that I never touch the settings. Same is the case with the M2. Set it and forget it.

I put 15,000 miles on my brand new fully-loaded g87 m2 in less than 6 months. Traded my 2022 Porsche 4S for it and have never looked back. The G80 M3 and M4 have the horrendous vertical grills that looks like they have metastatic tumors, but the g87 M2 does not and is just as fast both of them, so the M2 is the clear winner out of the M2, M3, and M4. I test drove a 718 porsche GTS, but the interior of all 718 Caymans are pathetic compared to the new BMW interior. No other brand has a better infotainment system/interior right now better than BMW. What the hell do I know though........ I just have multiple degrees and have owned multiple Porsches, Audis, Mercedes, Teslas, Toyotas, and Nissans. The only people that talk shit about the new g87 M2 are jealous dipshits that can't afford it. The G87 is the best car I've ever driven in my life. Anyways, great video! Thanks for sharing it!
@bobbymcjenkins006Ай бұрын
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the g87 M2 also handles a hell of a lot better than both the G80 M3 and M4 due to it's shorter wheel base. Also, a Toyota Supra is not shit compared to a G87 M2; they have completely different engines. I'll probably sell this car though when I see dumbass Gen Z kids with broccoli haircuts buying it used 4 years later from now. Have a nice day everybody!

First, if I'm getting a $70k BMW, I want it built in Germany. 🩵 Also, nice ride, but not a Miami car, like a Z4M or C8 Targa. Looking good in the Florida sun Motoman. 😎👍🏿
