Hey Lee! Doing something a bit different this year and heading to Buenos Aires for Christmas! Never been and very excited to check it out! As for the Z4, all I can share is a story about a hangar neighbor of mine. He called me one day saying he needs me to drop by the hangar. I get there and he says he needs ME to talk him out of a GT3 on BaT. Needless to say, that was an epic miscalculation on his part:) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

MM, it´s been an amazing 15 years and can´t believe really has been so long, time flies!. About car of the year.... your GT3TP could easily be but i have to say that i went to check the new R5 and it´s just so freaking perfect (except it needs smaller wheels for me). Makes you wanna have one hehe. Once they bring LFP into the mix i think it will be a better proposition. A few less thousand in that price range makes a huge difference plus in France is already the nº1 EV sold over the M3. I can´t justify one but i want one badly. The pick of the Tiguan is a good one but the real treat is the 5N, that is quite special indeed. Not sure how it will hold with time given constant changes in Evs but right now is, with the Taycan, pretty much the best one can buy in the Ev world. It´s been many years of videos and as you already know, i appreciate you and hope to keep this thing going on for many years more to come. I wish you a lot of health, love and a Merry Christmas/New Year over there.

The only reason I would moan about the honorary mention going to the Nismo Z, is that I have not seen either a nismo Z or the standard Z on the road. Not at cars and coffee, not at car shows, not just driving around (NE US). I've seen a few pictures of them being on dealer showrooms. My local dealership still has a new unsold 2023 model, and four 2024 models. Only two of them are manual. Keep in mind they started arriving at dealerships at the end of 2022. In that time I've even seen several Ariyas (AND Nissan Murano crosscabriolets). I'm convinced they are not actually trying to sell them. Don't get me wrong, this has nothing to do with how good the car is. But given they're just showroom eye candy that I don't reckon the dealership would want to go through the hassle of test driving. If they couldn't guarantee a sale, it might as well not exist for me. And while that may not matter in order to appreciate rolls-royces or Ferraris that I don't have a chance of buying anyway, the Z is supposed to be in a category of normal people consideration. As an aside for the conversation about ads: the Honda Unstoppable Dreams ad does a good job of playing into heritage of a company that's done well to fed their heritage And grow it for the modern day. Rather than previous Jaguar ads that have expected their heritage to pull more than its own weight while in reality the company does nothing to support it. It's not surprising they felt it wasn't a big deal to do something different

Can't argue with you . . . I don't see any either. Once I dug up the sales figures for this episode (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYXbg32wfcR2o8k), I learned why. And that is reason for the honorable mention: We need more cars like this and as such, we need to bribe them to make more. I am not a Honda guy, don't feature Honda/Acura on this channel because they treat me like a criminal, but if the Prelude was out, that, too would have gotten an honorable mention. It's this simple: The world will be a better place with more fun cars. Happy New Year!

Hate to admit it, but the design is growing on me. I would still choose the X5 M over this . . . but having driven both the blue one in this episode and that green one last year extensively, I am even more convinced this is are so much harder than the previous model. What do I mean? FAR more performance to the point where many folks won't like them. GT3, CTR, AMG E63s Wagon, etc folks would all LOVE this new X6 M . . . except for the price. Happy New Year!

Am pretty sure the best car of 2024 is still a mid 2000's Lexus or Toyota. Peak automotive is from about 1995 - 2010 as they had reliability kind of sorted, they were reasonably safe and there was massive amounts of choice before the bland everything looks the same and the electronics all cause problems era,

Good question and thanks for asking! In short, yes. Aside from the EX 90 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZWZqmZ4qcqZl7s), some Polestars and a handful of other relatively expensive models from non Chinese brands, Chinese cars have not made it to the US and they won't. Why? Two reasons. First one is obvious: The US government is going to rightly tariff low priced Chinese cars that come to US. Before the haters go off on a tangent about consumers being hurt, being a free market guy is VERY different than dumping product on worldwide markets as does China. They do this in more markets than just cars. Second and less obvious: Most are terrible. Yes, they have all the same tech and have hired some western designers to spruce up the aesthetics but these, at least for now, are the case of a pizza so cheap no one wants to eat it - or in this scenario: Drive them. What does that mean? If they are priced based on the real cost to build them, not slave labor rates China makes use of, they simply are not competitive. Even when compared to the worst the west has to offer. And it will take years to fix that. The only benefit the Z4 has over the Supra is that it is a Convertible. It is difficult to justify the high price tag unless you really really really want a convertible. That being said if price was not part of the equation then I would take the Z4 over the Supra. Something about having the top down really changes the driving experience.

Having driven both the Supra and the Z4 (now I own the Z4 manual), I couldn’t live with the Supra. The cabin in the Supra feels cramped, coming from someone who’s owned several Miata’s. The Z4 has a more comfortable suspension (although if I were to track it, I’d prefer the Supra’s suspension). However, it’s quite surprising how much more expensive the Z4 is for just a few minor differences.

What will happen first? 1- Battery as good as today's Lucid Air, to get 60% lighter and smaller (leaving the battery weight of the M5, give or take) 2- Wireless power transmission as Nikola Tesla was prevented from deploying. Not enough copper and labot, perhaps? With wireless power, no need for an M5 battery even for an intercontinental drive. And motorways could get charge loops to charge on the go. Tech already exists for 20 kW, it works I think. Plenty for a car with Prius battery.
