That was an exceptionally well presented review, thank you very much for all that information. It was great ….I’m looking forward to purchasing EQA 350 in Australia in 2022

Thank you so much! I finally got behind the wheel of an EQA 350 4MATIC here and it truly is a mini EQC - that is probably the highest praise I can give it! I expanded on some of the themes in this video for Living with an EQA which you may find handy - check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWHdZGl7nclpaJY

Exceptionally flawed when describing CO2 emissions. CO2 is a vital nutrient for all plant life on the planet and there is zero evidence that human emissions are the reason for the climate change. Also, the electricity you take to charge anything doesn't 'come' from renewable sources, it's all mixed with coal power and nuclear since the electric grid needs to be stable and the renewable energy is inherently unstable.

@@cedrickmichaelinganji4822 I have the car now for about 7 months, the expenditurs seems to be lower because, as I can charge at home and or at Ionity with the Mercedes Me Charge when I'm on the road. There are possibilities to charge for free, many stores do offer that service. But when it is not for free than it is cheaper compared to my previous BMW X3, which was about 9 euro/100 km for diesel versus 6 euro per 100 km for electricity today. There is no roadtax on EV's in my country. Don't know yet how much the yearly service will be.

I have driven an EQC for a few weeks now and while it's an extremely comfortable car, there are some misses in user friendliness that really annoy me. Why is set temperature and fan speed not shown by default? Why don't the windows close when I lock the car? Why does the car have to be in "ready mode" for me to operator the electric windows? Why isn't it crystal clear how to change audio input from DAB to USB? Why doesn't the AC ask me if I want to keep it turned on while I go into a shop? Why is the route guidance in the instrument cluster so small and lacking in detail? Why is there a super annoying reflex across the entire windsceen when driving in sunshine? Why doesn't the AC start automatically (as per last setting) when I press start? How do I set different temperatures for driver and passenger without having to go into the menu while driving? The list goes on.

This seems like a genuine concern, and would be nice to have them sorted out. I hope the OP ( @Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire ) takes note of this and kindly passes it to Daimler for possible redress with software updates. I think it can be fixed via updates.

Got my EQC on loan while my own EV is in for warranty work & I have to say…. I was totally against it considering it to be nothing more than a German Barge however,…. I absolutely love it!! So much so that my EV is up next year for renewal & the EQE (even though they’ve stopped making it) is top of my list. Brilliant. If anyone can help , 3 questions: 1) No phone charging plug? What? No USB socket? 2) No Satellite viewing of the Sat Nav? 3-D yes but no Satellite map? 3) No Hill Start assist? If anyone can tell me I’m wrong please do but I can’t even charge my IPhone!!

We are extremely satisfied with our EQC400. If you drive +-700 to 800 km every day and do not have 30 minutes to fast charge halfway through this journey, then this is not the car for you. We are fans because of its exceptional comfort and beautiful interior. Moreover, in the city you can lose your driver's license in 3 seconds if you don't pay attention, that's more than fast enough.

Actually... the aerodynamics have _NOT_ affected the design of this car spectacularly much, as you like to think.... it is basically the same shape as its petrol or diesel brother. In fact, this is one of the key points that sets it apart from the competition; it is not built as a climate wonder from the ground up, but rather based on the design of the GLC... which is why I, for one, just love this thing.

Just bought a 2021 EQC, what I don’t understand is why car has the upgraded sound system on premium plus spec however 2022 onwards premium plus cars don’t have it as standard. Wonder if this is due to cutting costs?

The driving sound demonstration is spoilt by low frequency vibration that I've not heard on any other EQC driving reviews! I think the mounting of your camera has adversely affected the sound? Having driven the EQC a couple of times, and collecting our own EQC next week, I can assure everyone that the EQC is a *really* quiet car

Fine if you charge from home. Actually great at around 17p per kWh. But when he mentioned that he had the car plugged into an Ionity fast charger. The cost is 69p per kWh. If charging an 80kw battery from home £13.60. At Ionity £55.20.
@LandLAutomotive
@LandLAutomotive 3 жыл бұрын
Discounted charging rates at IONITY rapid charging stations are included with Mercedes me Charge for one year which brings the cost down to 27p/kWh - the other co-founding manufacturers of IONITY also offer their customers discounted charging rates at the network. Competition within the rapid charging market is springing up with Gridserve offering 26p/kWh on all connections and Shell are about to expand their rapid charging offering so this space will become very competitive. At 27p/kWh a 0-100% charge would be £21.60.

Average energy consumption and recuperation will be key. You would want to aim for a minimum of 2.2 miles per kWh over the course of your journey. I'd expect the model to do these long round trips with ease. The EQ-optimised navigation will constantly check your route, traffic, current energy consumption, and if it estimates you will arrive at your destination with less than 10% charge remaining it will plan in a charging stop on your route. You are also able to search for charging stations near your destination through the system.

There are so many things wrong with this review.... you also mention, that all the small little things will help increase its top speed. Mercedes _clearly_ didn't care about the top speed, when they designed a 400+ HP monster that could only reach 180 km/h.... so what's with that? Actually @5:40 you can see a Nissan Qashqai right behind the Merc.... I own one of these, with a 130 HP diesel, which can outrun this Merc at top speed.That said, I'd take the Merc every day of the week ;-)

Hi, enjoyed the review, I was curious about the wall charger offer. I know you said it was only until the end of 2020 but was that a general offer from Mercedes on all new EQC orders or just something your dealership was offering?
@LandLAutomotive
@LandLAutomotive 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's a UK-wide offer from Mercedes-Benz for all EQ battery electric and EQ Power plug-in-hybrid models. The offer was extended a couple of weeks after we released this video! The wallbox is included for eligible models ordered before March 31st and delivered by June 30th of this year. If the property is not suitable for a wallbox or if one is already installed you can claim a two year membership with the Polar charging network for free instead. Full details can be found here: www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/passengercars/the-brand/wall-box-offer-terms.html

Modern? Futuristic? Mercedes couldn't even be bothered to actually re engineer the vehicle as most EV manufacturers are doing. It still has the now obsolete transmission hump in back seats. You conveniently ignored this issue and omitted it from view in the video. It's just a modified glc. Audi etc are building EVs utilizing an all new platform. Makes you wonder how many other compromises there are in this ' all new' vehicle.
@LandLAutomotive

Mounted above the battery itself and running along the spine of the car are various cables and coolant lines, along with ECUs. These components are able to fit into the housing for where the transmission/exhaust would have been on its combustion powered cousins. This is a typical place for these components to be placed on high voltage batteries - take a close look at the products from our friends at Audi, Porsche, Honda and Kia and you'll spot the ridge. On another note, the e-tron is a car I've spent a lot of time with and I think it is fantastic. Strong competition is good competition. As far as the future platforms go we can only wait and see. With batteries becoming more energy dense thereby requiring less space within the chassis or components being repositioned we may see completely flat floors front and rear starting to become commonplace.

9:15: It’s so cheap to run... and yet you still driving a car that costs you two times a week what it would cost you to run this car in a month... you know why? Because it’s so expensive to buy. So, basically, Mercedes is saving money to those that already have a lot a money to start. The rest of us... just can’t afford it. Starting with this guy that is making this video.
@LandLAutomotive
@LandLAutomotive 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct the EQC does come with a high price tag compared to some premium combustion engine SUVs although it is competitive with other premium electric products. Also the EQC comes with over 130 years of Mercedes-Benz experience in automotive engineering that we believe is really important. But when it comes to running costs compared to an equivalent petrol or diesel car in this segment of the market the EQC can't be ignored. The monthly purchase costs are similar yet driving electric can vastly reduce the fuel costs over the ownership period. The cost comparison calculator can be found here: costcomparisoncalculator.mercedes-benz.co.uk/#/ Irrespective of where the car is positioned in the market the cost savings of driving electric compared to combustion powered cars will bring down the cost of driving for all of us. Check out this cost comparison by our friends from Munich and Oxford: www.exploreminielectric.co.uk/search?search%5Byour_postcode%5D=&search%5Btravelling_to%5D=&search%5Bjourney_distance%5D=40&search%5Bjourney_frequency%5D=5&search%5Bjourney_type%5D=return&search%5Bcurrent_vehicle%5D=petrol&search%5Bdriving_style%5D=motorway&commit=Electrify+my+journey

i liked your video! thanks! you're funny, 41 quit a month, fantastic, but... buy a car that costs only half and you can drive 30 years for FREE. i like the car, and i dont mind that the real range is more like 150 miles instead of 250 miles. by now anyone interested in an electric car knows that the ranges are purely theoretical (or tailwind-downhill-20 degrees-no rain-experiences) the ride is awesome!

I think there's room for both. We'll see fuel cells getting a lot of development in HGVs where space is less of an issue but weight (and the knock-on impact on payload that a few tonnes of batteries brings) is in the coming years and that tech will transfer back to cars when it's small enough. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, who knows! It's a fascinating topic and one that I'd love to explore more in the future.
