Wow, the efficiency is almost as good as my Tesla Model S 70D! Bjorn's test showed about 310 Wh/mi, and the 70D was EPA rated at 292 Wh/mi. Pretty close, especially considering the EQC has a higher profile, possibly heavier, and the weather or elevation changes might have driven up the energy consumption a bit. His calculated range of 261 miles exceeds my 70D's EPA rated range of 240 miles. (The 75D has 259 miles of EPA range; neither the 70D nor the 75D is available any more.) I may have to take a serious look at this car once it becomes available in the US.

This car refutes all that prejudice that an EV on ICE platform could never be that good. I also didn't expect this win. Next time we should wait for the street results before bashing newly announced cars in advance. The engineers seem to have implemented so many optimizations we all coudn't see from outside. Now we all have the wide choice whether we want performance, range, style, space, luxury... 2019 will be remembered as the marker year when a broad range of high class EVs hit the market. In about 2025 we will have a large market full of desirable classy used EVs everyone can afford.

I took delivery of my new EQA 250 AMG Line last week. Love the car, BUT and a very BIG BUT, as it's a major fail from Mercedes. One cannot schedule a charge from within the settings in the car, or via the Mercedes ME app. This is a basic function that most other (Cheaper) EVs can perform. However, this basic function is not available on the premium car, with a premium price tag. If you have an electricity tariff like Octopus go, you cannot time a charge to take advantage of electricity at 5p per Kwh between 00:30 and 04:30. Unacceptable in my book. Come on Mercedes, get it sorted. It's only a software tweak that can be done over the air.
